We invite anyone with an interest and a desire to be part of improving our

Most likely this Summer is going to be hot (when isn't it?) but there's no need
to make it hotter than need be, so here's some Safety Fire Tip for the kitchen.
Nobody wants to have a kitchen fire but if you do, here are a
few tips that can help you safely mitigate the damage.
1) Remember, if it can catch fire, it should not be on the stove, like dishcloths
and paper towels etc.
2) If you think even for a second that a fire is too much, call 911 immediately.
3) Slide a tightfitting lid from left to right or right to left on to
the pot or skillet to smother the flames.
Never slam that lid straight down onto the pot or skillet
because this can force the flames to shoot out the sides, burning
your arm and possibly catching clothes on fire.
4) Your 1st thought might be to throw the pot or skillet into the sink and pour water
on it.
Never use water, (unless it's something as benign as burnt toast) especially if it
is a greasy fire. The cold water will interact with the hot grease and cause it to
explode violently, spraying hot grease and fire. Then you'll have a much bigger
problem.
5) You should have a fire extinguisher near an exit of your home. If
you only have one fire extinguisher, you really shouldn't have it in
a back room where you could get trapped by flames.
If you don't have a fire extinguisher you can use the box of
baking soda. It's nonflammable and it will smother the flames.
Never use flower, the fine dust can burst into a fireball.
That is when, due to the tilt of the earth on its axis, both the northern and
southern hemispheres receive equal amounts of daylight and consequently
nighttime.
This takes place approximately during Spring, March 20th and Fall,
September 21st.
1860: Within six months, prospectors from all over the west stake another 1,600
claims in Canal Gulch.
They came by way of the Columbia and Snake Rivers, making Idaho one of only
two states settled from west to east.
