    [96.1] Iqra bismi rabbikallazee khalaq,Read with the name of your Lord who created (everything), Bacalah dengan (menyebut) nama Tuhanmu Yang menciptakan,

    [96.2] Khalaqal-insaana min alaq.


    He created man from a clot of blood. Dia telah menciptakan manusia dari segumpal darah.

    [96.3] Iqra wa Rabbukal-Akram,Read, and your Lord is the most gracious, Bacalah, dan Tuhanmulah Yang Maha Pemurah,

    [96.4] Allazee allama bil-Qalam,who imparted knowledge by means of the pen. Yang mengajar (manusia) dengan perantaraan kalam.

    [96.5] Allamal-insaana maa lam-yalam.


    He taught man what he did not know. Dia mengajarkan kepada manusia apa yang tidak diketahuinya.

    [96.6] Kallaaa innal-insaana la-yatgaaa,


    In fact, man crosses the limits, Ketahuilah! Sesungguhnya manusia benar-benar melampaui batas,

    [96.7] Ar-raaahus-tagnaa.
    because he deems himself to be free of need. karena dia melihat dirinya serba cukup.

    [96.8] Inna ilaa rabbikar-rujaa.


    Surely to your Lord is the return.

    96. AL ALAQ Sesungguhnya hanya kepada Tuhanmulah kembali (mu).

    [96.9] Araaytallazee yanhaa


    Have you seen him who forbids Bagaimana pendapatmu tentang orang yang melarang,

    [96.10] Abdan izaa sallaa?


    a servant of Allah when he prays? seorang hamba ketika dia mengerjakan salat,

    [96.11] Araayta in-kaana alal-hudaa?


    Tell me, if he is on the right path, bagaimana pendapatmu jika orang yang melarang itu berada di atas kebenaran,

    [96.12] Aw amara bit-Taqwaa?


    or bids piety, (would the former still forbid him?) atau dia menyuruh bertakwa (kepada Allah)?

    [96.13] Araayta in-kazzaba wa tawallaa?


    Tell me, if he rejects (the true faith) and turns away, Bagaimana pendapatmu jika orang yang melarang itu mendustakan dan berpaling?

    [96.14] Alam yalam-bi-annaLLaaha yaraa?


    does he not know that Allah is watching (him)? Tidakkah dia mengetahui bahwa sesungguhnya Allah melihat segala perbuatannya?

    [96.15] Kallaa laillam yantahi lanasfaam-bin-naasiyah,-

    No! If he does not desist, We will certainly drag (him) by forelock, Ketahuilah, sungguh jika dia tidak berhenti (berbuat demikian) niscaya Kami tarik ubun-ubunnya,

    [96.16] Naasiyatin-kaazibatin khaatiah.


    a lying, sinful forelock. (yaitu) ubun-ubun orang yang mendustakan lagi durhaka.

    [96.17] Fal-yadu naadiyah:

    96. AL ALAQ So let him call the men of his council, Maka biarlah dia memanggil golongannya (untuk menolongnya),

    [96.18] Sanaduz-zabaaniyah.
    We will call the soldiers of the Hell. kelak Kami akan memanggil malaikat Zabaniyah,

    [96.19] Kallaa: laa tutihu wasjud waqtarib.

    No! Never obey him, and bow down in sajdah, and come close to Me. sekali-kali jangan, janganlah kamu patuh kepadanya; dan sujudlah dan dekatkanlah (dirimu kepada Tuhan),
