Shooting in south Minneapolis alley leaves one dead


June 1, 2012 (MINNEAPOLIS) Just before 3:30 p.m. patrol officers in the Third Precinct responded to a report of a shooting in the 2900 block of Bloomington Avenue South. When officers arrived they found a male in his mid to late teens in the entryway to an apartment building suffering from apparent gunshot wound(s). The male was transported by EMS to HCMC where he succumbed to his wounds. It is believed that the shooting took place in a nearby alley following a confrontation involving a number of people. The Minneapolis Police Department Homicide Unit is investigating this case and no one is currently in custody. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the TIPS line at 612-692-TIPS (8477). The identity of the deceased will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiners Office.
