    NORTH YORKSHIRE OPEN STUDIOS 2013 SELECTION CRITERIA

    If you would like to participate in the scheme you must live and/or work in North Yorkshire. The criteria are as follows: APPLICATION DEADLINES: Early Bird: 29 Oct 2012 / Final Deadline: 19 Nov 2012 You should: be a professional visual or applied artist committed to the making and selling of high quality contemporary art or craft. be engaged in current practice consistent with professional status and be able to demonstrate good technical ability to that standard. have an accessible workspace, or be able to collaborate with another artist/maker who has a studio space, or identify an appropriate alternative space. be prepared to actively promote the event in your local area. provide information and complete all documentation required by the stated deadline. NB: artists who were selected in previous years but who failed to supply key information, specified in the letter of agreement, will not be considered eligible for selection in 2013. INELIGIBLE APPLICANTS Artists ineligible to apply: Artists living outside North Yorkshire Artists selected in 2012 who shared their studio with non-selected artists during NYOS Artists from previous years who failed to supply key information, specified in the letter of agreement CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATION You should: be prepared to open your workspace and be present on all the days and at the times specified. provide high quality visual images of your work, eg digital images (jpg 300 dpi) to Art Connections by the stated deadline. Please refer to our image guide. complete an application form for North Yorkshire Open Studios 2013. agree to pay an application fee of 20 and an entry fee of 50 if selected for inclusion in the 2013 event. agree to pay 15% or 20% commission, (amount dependent on funding outcome), on all sales made during the NYOS 2013 event, including any sales made at preview events. (Please enquire if further information is required)

    keep a record of, and provide information of visitor numbers and sales generated to Art Connections, after the event. CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATION (continued) arrange your own insurance and be responsible for your own risk assessment of your studio/workspace. be prepared to send marketing information to your own mailing list and help promote the event locally. be prepared to sign a contract agreeing to the above criteria and conditions.
