    Freemasonry is among the one of the world's oldest secular fraternal society. It's a society that teaches moral and spiritual values through ceremonies and rituals. The abiding principles in the membership are brotherly love, relief, and truth. There are lots of myths, falsities, accusations, and lies up against the Freemasons. Among some of the people accusations are: (a) It is really an elitist society for men available of power, authority, and wealth. Fact: It is just a society ready to accept men coming from all races, colors, and creeds, and accepts members coming from all faiths. It's not a mutual benefit society and will be offering no protection or material gain or benefit to any member. (b) The members hold secret meetings nowadays to control and overthrow governments, or create chaos. Fact: Freemasonry is approximately bringing people together to get results for the excellent of humanity. Racial, political, and religious issues are banned from discussions at Masonic meetings. (c) Freemasons drink from a skull throughout the initiation (First Degree) ritual for any candidate. Fact: The Freemasons usually do not drink away from any skulls in any ceremony. This fallacy was started greater than a millennium ago by a French anti-Masonic campaigner who wrote beneath the pseudonym of Leo Taxil to discredit the fraternity. (d) Freemasonry is really a religion plus they pray to an alternative God. Fact: Freemasonry is not a religion and not a substitute for religion. There are no sacraments or salvation offered in Freemasonry. Freemasons should preferably follow their particular collection of religions, and that's why the discussion of spiritual affiliations usually are not permitted at meetings. (e) The obligations taken bind all Freemasons on their secrets and by-laws. Fact: The so called 'secrets' are ways and ways of identifying each other, and concern Freemasons only. Moral teachings and wisdom are imparted to members in their ceremonies. Nothing taught is or will probably be incompatible with the civil, moral, or religious duties of an member to his very own faith, neighbour, or country of birth or adoption.

    Hardly any other society ever sold has engendered more criticism and acrimony than Freemasonry. The above article has hopefully dispelled some fallacies and reveal this fraternal society established to the good of humanity.
