ADVERTISEMENT FOR THE POSTS OF FOOD SAFETY OFFICER UNDER F.S.S. Act. 2006
LAST DATE OF RECEIPT OF APPLICATION:- within 15 (fifteen) days from the date of this publication. 1. Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for recruitment to the post of 28 (twenty eight) nos of Food Safety Officers under the different categories as mentioned below in the pay band -2 (Rs. 9300/-34,800/- + Grade pay 4200/-) and other allowance as admissible from time to time as per the provisions of the Govt. of Odisha. Vacancy: Category ST SC SEBC UR Total 3. Educational Qualification:
(i) A degree in Food Technology or Dairy Technology or Bio-Technology or Oil Technology or Agriculture Science or Veterinary Sciences or Bio-Chemistry or Micro Biology or Master degree in Chemistry or Degree in Medicine from recognized University Has successfully completed training as specified by the Food Authority in a recognized Institute or Institution approved for the purpose. Provided that no person who has any financial interest in the manufacture, import or sell any article of food shall be appointed to be a Food Safety Officer.

Note: Applicable for para (ii), in case the candidates having training in food inspections and sampling work under a food authority is not available then the candidates having the above educational qualification will be considered subject to conditions that they will undergo training after selection.

Age limit: The candidates shall not less than 21 years and more than 32 years as on 30.09.2012. The upper age limit is relax by five years in case of SC/ST/SEBC/Women candidates. Procedure of Selection: (i) The selection will be purely on percentage of marks secured in qualifying examination. (ii) In case of tie-up of same percentage of marks, the candidate older in age shall be placed above the younger.

General eligibility criteria of the candidates: In order to be eligible for recruitment to the above post, a candidate must satisfy the following conditions: He/She (a) Shall be a citizen of India. (b) Shall posses requisite qualification (educational and age eligibility) shown as para -3 &4 above. (c) Shall be able to speak, read and write Odia and have passed a language test in Odia equivalent to Middle School Standard. (d) Must not have more than one spouse living. (e) Shall have good moral character. (f) Shall be a sound health, good physique, active habits and far from any organic defect or bodily deformity. (g) Must not have been debarred from appearing any other competitive examination and holding Govt. service as order by the competent authority. Candidate claiming reservation under any category should furnish relevant certificates issued by the competent authority not below rank of the Tahasildar in support of their claim.

Application Form:- The candidates may apply in the prescribed application form mentioned below along with the required documents as mentioned in the application form. A bank draft amount to Rs. 50/- (Rupees fifty only) to be drawn in favour of the Director of Public Health, Odisha payable at Bhubaneswar (which is non refundable) towards processing charges should be attached with the application form in original. The application form along with the required documents should reach in the Directorate of Public Health, Odisha , Head of Department Building/Naa tala), Unit V, Bhubaneswar-751001 by Regd. Post / Speed post positively. No applications will be allowed for receipt directly. Submission of application form in other means will not be entertained and is liable to rejected. The last date of receipt of application form is 15 days from the date of advertisement (by 5 PM). Applications received in incomplete form or after the stipulated date will be summarily rejected.
