Advances in Power Systems Protection A Symposium in honor of Dr.

Peter McLaren
This symposium on Advances in Power Systems Protection is organized to honor the significant contributions of Dr. Peter G. McLaren, Professor of Electrical Engineering at the FAMUFSU College of Engineering and Director of the Florida Advanced Power Research Institute in the Center for Advanced Power Systems, Florida State University. This symposium will track the history of power system protection research through Dr. McLarens career in industry and academia from the early 1960s to the present. The program covers Dr. McLarens collaborative research with graduate students and expert associates from the industry, and his service to professional technical organizations, such as the IEEE and IEE. Through these presentations we will collate historic perspectives of the advances in power system protection, the factors that led to these advances, as well as an outlook to the protection challenges of future power systems. Organized by the Florida State University Center for Advanced Power Systems (CAPS)
