TATAKAI JIKOBOEI DO KEMPO MANUAL

SENSEI PAUL CORRIGAN

Founder

TATAKAI-JIKOBOEI-DOKEMPO
Combat Self Defence principles. An eclectic blend of martial arts systems from the East and West.

Tatakai-Jikoboei-Do-Kempo is not by any means a new martial art, rather it is my interpretation of a number of traditional and none traditional martial arts taken from both the East and the West. In Japanese Tatakai means combat, Jikoboei means self defence and Do means way, hence this system is the Way of Combat Self Defence. This is a style that is street orientated and has no sporting applications. Techniques are formulated in a way that they can be either added to or taken from. This reflects the fact that no two opponents are the same or for that matter any situation. This system is a concise and practical collection of moves and techniques that lend themselves to all self defence situations. The system is devised and structured so that anyone can learn it and make it work no matter what their age is or physical condition. Why have twenty techniques for one attack, when one technique will work against twenty attacks? For many people in todays busy society, they do not have the time to spend hour upon hour in a dojo, this system is for these people, a way of survival, a way of self defence. Tatakai-Jikoboei-Do-Kempo is a simple, practical and I make no apologies for this statement, a brutal art, designed with one objective in mind SURVIVAL. The practicality of the system also gives the practitioner a mental edge in a self defence or survival (interchangeable words) situation. Tatakai-Jikoboei-Do-Kempo uses hand strikes, kicks, knees, elbows, head butts, locks, throws and holds targeting pressure points and vulnerable places on the body to give the practitioner the WINNING EDGE on the streets.

This is the philosophy of Tatakai-Jikoboei-Do-Kempo , practicality , simplicity and effectiveness.

RECoGNITION

Tatakai Jikoboei Do Kempo was founded in March 2003 by Sensei John Paul Corrigan . Having studied numerous martial arts from the age of 11, Sensei Corrigan decided he needed a simple yet effective system of self defence. With this in mind TJD Kempo was formulated using the "street experience" Sensei Corrigan had aquired over the years. He has worked the doors for 5 years and has been employed in law enforcement for 13 years at the time of writing. TJD Kempo has elements of a number of arts studied by it's founder. These include : Shotokan Karate Combat Karate Dragon Kenpo Karate Freestyle Karate Jujitsu

Specific elements from these arts plus many more are combined in this effective system of self defence. The system was first recognised by the Valadez Kenpo Association ( Sensei Corrigan has since gone on to be appointed a board member of the VKA). It is now recognised by the following associations: International Sungja Do Association
