Diversity has impacted the business industry tremendously, think about all the different races,
culture, and genders, there are. How would a business profit if they hired the same type of
people, when everyone is different? Would they even be in business? In Embracing Employee
Diversity by Ana Taboada-Drummond, the author argues small businesses need to have diverse
employees. The author states that small businesses cannot afford not to have diversity in their
business; however, small businesses think they can't afford to be diverse. According to
Drummond, the United States Nation is becoming very diverse, she states that Hispanics and
Asians are the fastest growing group in America because of this, communication is becoming an
important factor in business. She states that businesses need to have employees that are bilingual,
to bring more profit.

Having diverse employees increases work productivity, and profits. Hiring the same type of
people will not bring much productivity or profits to the business. They wouldn't be able to
communicate with different types of people, instead they will target only one specific group.
Having a diverse team, will create new innovations and help increase profits. Diverse employees
think of various ways to communicate their products to different races, cultures and genders.
This is an important factor to cover in business critical thinking, since diversity allow businesses
to communicate in different countries, giving opportunity to grow and expand. Covering
diversity in Business Critical Thinking is a great opportunity for students to understand, how it
came to be and why it's important in the business world. Without diversity businesses would not
profit as much and would be stuck in one way thinking without innovations.
