Assalammualaikum w.b.t.

Honourable Speaker, venerable judges, revered government members,

members of the house, ladies and gentlemen. I wish you a very good afternoon. As the Leader of the
opposition team, I stand here today to take a stand against the topic for todays motion, entitled, There
Should Be A Control On The Use Of Smartphone Amongst Students.

Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to define the motion I have tabled. The Concise Oxfoard
Advanced Learners Dictionary of Current English quotes control as the power or ability to restrain one
owns emotions or actions. Smartphone on the other hand is a mobile phone that is able to perform many
of the functions of a computer, typically having a relatively large screen and an operating system capable
of running general purpose applications. The Concise Oxfoard Dictionary defines Students as a person
who is studying at a school, college, or university.
The motion then, simply means, that the interaction of individuals with smartphone has made life easier
and more convenient for us.

As the Leader of opposition team, I have tabled this motion and I have stated the definition.Next,
I shall prove the Prime Minister wrong, provide one point in favour of the caseline and clear all doubts
raised by the government. Before I do so, allow me to define the roles of my second and third opposition
member. My second opposition member shall prove the Prime Minister and second minister wrong and
speak on two additional points in favour of the opposition motion. As for my third opposition member,
her role is to clear all doubts raised by the government, provide the rebuttal and summarise our facts for
the day.
First and foremost, I as the Leader of the Opposition team, would like to reaffirm our stand
against todays motion, that There Should Be A Control On The Use Of Smartphone Amongst
Students.
We, the opposition team strongly disagree with this lame argument put forward by the
government team, that .. before I continue, allow me to restinquish false arguments put forward by
the government team. She/He mentioned that .

Ladies and gentlemen,

Let me start by telling you that we live in a super-technological era, and its a blessing for us. It
drives all of mankind forward into the future. Technology is making our lives easier in many ways, but
we have also become quite dependent on it.

Nowadays, the smartphone owner population is growing. Multi-functionality, portability, and
connectivity are opening doors for learning. No wonder students harness smartphone technology to help
them in education. These tiny pocket computers keep students connected to the Internet, improving their
academics.

On a superficial level, a smartphone is a gadget that allows people to make phone calls as well as
use other features that are not common on a conventional phone.

Smartphones are now powerful handed computers which come completely unfiltered access to
the Web and highly sophisticated application. Speaking of applications, they are also one of the reasons
why a smartphone is smart. A smartphone is smart because it has an operating system which manages the
gadgets hardware. Applications are mini software programs that can perform various functions. They are
also the reasons why every smartphone is unique. Smartphone is also have Internet connectivity either
through Wi-fi or 3G/4G. meanwhile, these mobile devices can be powerful tools for learning.

Ladies and gentlemen,

Every day, more and more people are buying gadgets to connect to the digital world. Gadgets are
everywhere, smartphones, music player, tablet, computers, laptop, netbook, etc. If one of them is used for
educational purposes and productivity, thats what we called them mobile learning.

Learning does not only happen inside the four walls of the classroom, it can happen everywhere.
Portability is important for a gadget, but a gadget is most praised for its ability to connect to academic
resources with just a swipe of a finger.

A student can now take notes and transfer them to a laptop pr share them online with a study
group. A student also can create presentations or flashcards. A learner has instant access to numerous
websites for questions needing answered. For video assignments, students can record their films using a
smartphone and send them to a computer for editing.

There are really a lot of ways to learn using a smartphone. Mobile learning is a gateway to tools
and resources. It makes learning more personalized and creates bridges over the gaps between teacher and
student. The great thing is that it gives users access to turns of content anywhere or anytime.

Next, students can learn in a way they are comfortable. Smartphones are young-person
intuitive. More and more students know how to use them and, in fact, they are becoming the
most used tool by teenagers. Besides that, audio and video can bring learning to life. Audio
and video capabilities of smartphones can put a voice, a dramatic video image and allow students
to hear the music. They can even connect with other students from around the globe and expand
their learning world. Other than that, smartphones also allow for social learning. Smartphones
can allow students to work in groups on projects, sharing information and discoveries. They can
move toward a common goal, again, in a format they are comfortable using.

From those explanations, we can conclude that smartphones is a good for our society also
the students because this smartphones have features or applications that can help students for
their education. Without these smartphones, the students will leave behind and do not exposed
to the new era which are really using smartphones to interact with each other.

Ill keep my stand and back to propose. Thank you.
