Wayne County Fair has been a mainstay event for 159 years.
In an age where entertainment is highly commercialized
with electronic stimulus, the purity of this good old-fashioned
family fair is a welcomed relief.
Wayne County Fair takes pride as an all-volunteer run event
who care deeply of keeping the fne and fun tradition alive.
Highlights of this years fair include: the 25th anniversary of the Pie Baking
Contestexpanded Wine and Cheese Tasting event
three nights of Demolition Derby Racing and Figure 8 Racing

The original game wheel, used many years ago at the fair,
was forgotten and stored for decades. Volunteers cleaned,
repaired, painted it, and brought it back to life as The Cake Wheel.
The popular, fun game attraction ofers prizes of tasty cakes and other
desserts plus a variety of prizes donated by area businesses.
Try it out and win a prize while helping the fair
earn funds towards needed renovations!

as they drive in a fgure 8 course. The goal is to be able to keep moving as the horn blows.

brought out the best pie bakers in the county for 25 years!
Motts Corporation/Dr Pepper Snapple Group and Vans Auction Service are
sponsors. Men, women and even children have been past top winners of the
$50 top prize. The top six bakers receive beautiful rosettes and cash awards.
Immediately following the competition, all pie entries
are auctioned of by Vans Auction Service.

She will take on various responsibilities
throughout Fair week to learn frst-hand
the decision-making processes
and the behind-the-scenes work
involved to execute the events.
For the past four years,
Abby has been helping at the Fair
in various capacities.
She is hoping to pursue a career
in the United States Navy.

The Celebrity Goat Milking Contest winner designates the charity
who will receive the prize money. Contestants have a whole lot of fun trying their
skills of goat milking while being cheered on by the enthusiastic audience.
Last year, Wayne Countys own PBA Hall of Fame Pro Bowler, Doug Kent
as well as other various celebrities from all walks of life
made a very interesting blend of participants.

Demolition Derby is the hottest event
during Fair Week and for a good reason!
Local drivers of all ages, experience level, and backgrounds give it
their all while they calculate skillful driving maneuvers.
The fve-event per night program leads up to Saturdays championship round.
The driver and last car running is declared winner.
County championship drivers compete at the
New York State Fair event on Labor Day weekend.
State Champions then compete at a National Championship.

FRIDAY NIGHT is PARADE NIGHT!
The annual Wayne County Fair Parade is one of the largest every year in the area.
Special honor is given to First Responders in the county plus supporting good neighbors
in Ontario and Monroe Counties. Favorite marching bands, members of 4 -H, animals,
foats and various special performances are also showcased.
The parade starts in the heart of Palmyra on Main Street then proceeds to the fairgrounds.
Cash prizes are given to the best performers.

PARADE MARSHALLS
Gerry and Jack Dekdebrun will be honored for
their many years of volunteered service to the Fair.
Gerry has been an ofcer of the Fair for many years,
chair of the Queen Pageant, and
the chair of the yearly Pie Baking Contest.
Jack has served in various supporting roles,
most noticeably as a grounds chaufeur.
Wayne County Fair has been privileged
to have their dedication.

food/nutrition, horticulture, clothing/textiles, photography,
various types of crafts and public speaking presentations.
