Association of Blue Eagle and Centennial Scholars

CONSTITUTION AND BY-LAWS



I. Name
This organization will be called as the Association of Blue Eagle and Centennial Scholars.

II. Members
The members of the organization are the Blue Eagle and Centennial Scholars who are currently
enrolled in the Ateneo de Zamboanga University and are enjoying the benefits of the scholarship.
Termination of the scholarship shall also mean withdrawal from the organization. As a Blue eagle and
Centennial Scholar, it is NOT an option to join the organization; it is compulsory. Moreover, all
members are expected to participate and cooperate in all of the organizations activities.

III. Officers
All officers must be members of the organization and must attend officers meetings and help in all of
the organizations activities.

President
The President is the overseer of the organization and sees to it that the organization is running
smoothly and in accordance with the by-laws. The President has the authority to call for special
meetings and to give sanctions to the members with the approval of the moderator. The president
cannot vote except if there is a tie.



Vice-Presidents
The Vice-Presidents are the Deputies of the President. The Vice-Presidents aid the President in
his/her duties. In case the President fails to do his/her duties, the Vice-Presidents will take
his/her job. The Vice-Presidents are the overseer of the organizations activities, whereas the
President is the overseer of the entire organization.

Vice-President for Excellence
The Vice-President for Excellence focuses on seeking for opportunities (competitions)
where members can join to further develop the skills they now have and gain new skills as
well.

Vice-President for Service
The Vice-President for Service leads the organization in doing activities, including tutorials
and other service-related activities, may it be inside or outside the Ateneo community.

Vice-President for Citizenship
The Vice-President for Citizenships duties revolve around helping individuals or
communities achieve stability in the long run through small, yet continuous, love-drive
activities such as Operation: Shoebox.

Vice-President Appointees
Three appointees are chosen by each Vice-President to help him/her in promoting and
making the activities successful.



Secretary
The Secretary is the head of the Documentation Team. The Secretary has the right to
choose who among the members of the organization shall belong to this team. The
Secretary keeps the minutes and the discussion of all the meetings of the organization, plus
all documents, files, pictures and the like regarding the activities of the organization.

Public Information Officer (P.I.O.)
The Public Information Officer (P.I.O.), is primarily responsible for the dissemination of
information to all members. He/she must post the announcements in the bulletin board.

The president may reserve the right to appoint other officers necessary for the organization to fulfill its
objectives.

IV. Rules and Regulations
1. All members are expected to participate and cooperate in all the organizations activities. This
includes paying of organization fees, attending meetings and activities, and respecting the speakers
and the organizers of the said activities.
2. Tardiness can only be tolerated for at most fifteen (15) minutes. Beyond that, an explanation letter
must be submitted.
3. All Blue Eagle and Centennial Scholars must not jeopardize the name of the organization nor the
school.
V. Sanctions
1. Failure to attend any of the organizations meetings and activities, must submit an explanation
letter prior to the said activity. Failure to submit an explanation letter will be considered an
unreasonable absence.
2. Unreasonable absences will have to serve for additional hours other than the mandated hours of
service depending on the number of hours the said activity took place.
3. If a member is not conforming to the by-laws, he/she will have a personal meeting with the
moderator.

VI. Amendments

Amendments to the by-laws must be made only if more than 55% of the members agreed to amend
the by-laws with the approval of the moderator.
