KEY MESSAGE OF THE WEEK!

Every year we ask parents to review the information we hold on our children regarding their medical
needs. Please make sure you have handed in a completed medical form for your child. This is very
important information regarding allergies and emergency contact details. Spare medical forms are
available from the school office. We appreciate the time you take to do this but we hope you recognise it
is in your childrens best interest.
FOOTBALL TEAMS VICTORY!
I am so proud to announce that both A and B teams both enjoyed victories with each team achieving three wins each.
They are now both enjoying a very comfortable position in the league as a result. Good luck for next week!
CHOIR THIS FRIDAY
Unfortunately there is to be no choir this Friday as I am receiving training. We shall therefore make up for lost time
next week! Please collect your children as normal at the end of the school day.
SCHOOL CAR PARK
Can I please ask that parents refrain from parking within the school car park area as we have found that this has
caused difficulties for members of staff entering and exiting the school. Many thanks for this.
HARVEST
Our harvest preparations have begun with the learning of songs celebrating this festival. I would very much like to
support our local and apparently most popular local food bank in Bamber Bridge. A volunteer helper from the food
bank will be joining the KS2 juniors at St. Aidan Church and also in our KS1 infant assembly alongside the Rev Steve
Johnson whose parish also supports this necessary cause. We would very much welcome you to put any dried foods
such as pastas, noodles etc. and any tinned products to one side if you can spare them. Every donation builds to make
a really valuable contribution to the food bank. All donations may be brought in on Monday 20
th
October, ready for
our visit to St Aidans Church on the Tuesday.
HIGH SCHOOL APPLICATIONS
Just a quick reminder to all our year 6 parents, all high school applications need to be completed by 31/10/14. Any
applications after this date are classed as late and are dealt with differently.
ROTAKIDS ASSEMBLY 2.30PM 14

OCTOBER YEAR 4
Children in our Year4 will be initiated as RotaKids and fulfilling a community role working alongside South Ribble
Rotarians this year. This short assembly will take place at 2.30pm where they will be visited in the school hall by
members of the Rotary group to make them aware of what it means to be a RotaKid and the impact that they can
have on their community and the wider community. If parents of Year 4 children are able, they are welcome to attend
the assembly and take their children home after.

RAINBOWS ST AIDANS
St Aidans now have places for new Rainbows. Girls can join after their 5th birthday and move up to Brownies after
their 7th birthday, members take part in extra-curricular activities that are creative and fun as well as learn to develop
social skills through play and adventure. We meet on a Tuesday evening from 6pm till 7pm in St Aidans Institute.

ANY OLD IRON?
Mr Johnson is looking for old cooking pans to add to his musical area in the Early Years Outdoor Area. They make a
great noise when played, or bashed. If you have any old spare pans, they would be gratefully recycled in this area for
our youngest children.
MONEY SENT TO SCHOOL
Just a quick reminder to all parents to ensure when sending any money into school it is in a sealed envelope with your
childs name class and is labelled clearly with the purpose e.g. dinner money/swimming donation. Any money or reply
slips can be posted into any of our grey secure boxes located around school. Small brown envelopes with school stamp
can be purchased from the office 50p for 25 envelopes.
PTA
You are certainly most welcome to come and join us as we look forward to holding Halloween Craft sessions for the
children on Thursday 23
rd
October and for our infant and junior discos on the 24
th
. We are presently looking for empty
jars of any size and shape for our Halloween Craft if you have anything like this available. More information about
event will be published nearer to the date.
CHARITY FAMILY FUN DAY & ZUMBATHON 23

NOVEMBER 10AM-1.30PM
I have been approached to advertise this event which will take place at the Bamber Bridge Leisure Centre. It is to be
held in memory of Ian Tong who suffered with Lymph Cancer. There will be a 50p entry charge with a major Zumba
event which will be 5 to enter if you have the time and the energy for this cause. Volunteers are most welcome for
this day to help on stalls. Should you wish to run your own stall there will be a charge of 10. For any further details,
please contact Karen Schorah on 07800 789979 or you can catch her on the playground.
