Tomas Andres
holds a
doctorate degree in educational management from the Far Eastern University (FEU),
a diploma in labor and industrial management from the Labor Management College of
New York in Buffalo, a master's degree in philosophy from the University of Santo
Tomas (UST), and five baccalaureate degrees in Education, Liberal Arts, Oriental
Philosphies, Behavioral Sciences and Industrial Technology from universities in India,
Spain and Philippines.
Positive Filipino Values are the symbols that Dr. Andres exemplifies: hope in
the Filipino, faith in the Filipino, and courage to search and practice the positiveness of
Filipino values. He refuses to give way to pessimism. He is acknowledged as the
champion of Filipino values having authored more than 40 books upholding the
positiveness of Filipino values. He is one person who stands for what he writes and
strongly believes in.
Dr. Andres is actively involved in saving the future of the Philippines by saving
and strengthening organizations. He has served more than a hundred business,
educational, ecclesiastical, government, hospital, social, and civic institutions. Despite
very attractive offers to work abroad, he is aggressively rallying for a Man Reform
Movement through Positive Filipino Values Formation.
As one of the few experts in the fields of Management and Human Resource
Development in the Philippines and being both a theorist and practitioner, Dr. Andres
has had several opportunities to lecture in convocations, symposia, religious
gatherings, and courses and seminars on related subjects such as Management,
Culture Shock, Supervisory Management, Human Resource Development, Project
Management, Customer Relations among others. He is one of the most sough-after
speakers on values education, business management, and human behaviour in
organization. He can hold the attention of his audience for hours. His talks are not only
substantial but also humorous and developmental.
Presently, Dr. Andres holds the following positions: MBA Professor at Ateneo
Graduate School of Business; He is the founder, the President, and General Manger
of Values and Technologies Management Centre, whose expertise lies on developing
and conducting training and management program relevant to Philippine setting,
backed up by 20 years of research and active involvement in the field of training,
management, and organizational development consultancy; Doctorate Professor at
EARISTs Graduate School and Organizational Development Professor at Southeast
Asia Interdisciplinary Institute; Professor at Southeast Asia Interdisciplinary Institute;
Professor at the Master in Construction Management Program of Polytechnic
University of the Philippines; Chairman of the Resource Consultants and Counselor
and Management Business Achievers, Inc.; Accredited consultant of International
Management Center, Economic Development Foundation, National Computer Institute
and Cultural Bank Institute. He is also a consultant of several multinational and local
companies as well as of the Department of Trade and Industry.
His main interest and mission in life, however, is on the values development of
people. For almost two decades, he studied and researched on the values system of
the East and of the West. He worked and had dialogues with authors and authorities
on values in Asia, Europe, and in the United States. And he himself has lived in the
foothills of the Pyrenees, stayed in an Indian Ashram, sat down in colloquia on values
