TRANSCRIPTS

Seniors: If you are needing transcripts mailed to colleges, please fill out a yellow
TRANSCRIPT REQUEST card; they can be found outside Ms. Romeros office door in the
student office. Please indicate which college you would like me to mail them to and whether
it needs to go to admissions or financial aid office. There is a 24 48 hour turnaround time
on mailing out transcripts.

LIBRARY

Come join us in the library for our Movie @ Lunch today to watch The Giver.

DRESSCODE
VIOLATIONS

Please be respectful of the Selma High School Rules. All collegiate and professional sport
attire is not allowed to be worn, that also includes Fresno State. The dress code is strictly
enforced and if dress code is violated Saturday school will be given to the student.

REEDELY COLLEGE The application deadline for the Honors Program at Reedley College is: February 1st for he
HONORS PROGRAM early application deadline. March 1ST is the regular deadline.

ACADEMIC
DECATHLETES

Good luck to our Academic Decathletes as they compete in the areas of speech, interview,
and essay this Saturday. These 22 - A, B, and C students will be at Fresno State with over 25
county high schools in the first day of competition. The theme this year is New Alternatives in
Energy: Ingenuity and Innovation.

FAFSA

Seniors: There will be a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) workshop on
Wednesday, February 4th from 6:00pm 8:00pm starting in the SHS Dining Hall. Please stop
by Ms. Lovings room, 1002 and pick up a financial aid informational packet if you havent
already done so. Please check your Senior Activities handbook regularly for important
information. If can access the student handbook on the SHS website;
www.selmausd.org/selmahigh just click on the Senior Page on the left side of the home page
under Quick Links. While you are there it is a good idea to also read the daily bulletin.
Your college education depends on it!

SENIOR TRIP
PAYMENT

The next $50 payment for your senior trip is due TODAY! Be sure to keep up with
your payment plan so you dont have to worry about a big balance at the end. All payments
can be made to Gina Gonzalez in the finance office.

SENIORS

JUNIORS

Dont forget that January is CPR month (College Preparedness Rush). Register to take the
SAT or ACT, and give Mrs. Sanikian a copy of your registration and you could win a gift card.

POWDER PUFF

Attention all junior/senior girls: If you are interested in playing powder puff this year plan on
attending the meeting in the gym the first 10 minutes of lunch on Tuesday, February 3rd.

SENIORS

If you need your GPA and Class Rank for the local scholarship applications see Ms. Loving; she
has a binder with that information for you. Do not ask anyone in the office to print out your
transcript for that information, Thank you.

ALL STUDENTS

Warnors Center for performing arts is having their 2015 classic film series and on Thursday,
February 19th at 6:00pm they will be presenting Singing in the Rain. If you are interested in
attending and would like free tickets, Please see Ms. Bonilla in the student office.

CLUB LATINO

There will be a mandatory meeting TODAY at the start of lunch in room 317.

HIA

Hispanics In Action members will have a MANDATORY meeting Tuesday, February 3rd at
12:10pm in room 409. We will discuss our next fundraiser and work on our community
service project.

UPWARD BOUND

Upward Bound is recruiting new participants, if you are interested and want more information
please stop by room 1303 after school on Wednesdays.

DONATION
DANCE

TONIGHT from 9-11pm in the Dining Hall we will host a donation dance where
all money collected at the door will be added to our Pennies for Patients/ Jose Valencia
Drive. The dance will be called the 5 Dolla Holla Dance. The cost is $5 for everyone,
even those with ASB cards.

SENIOR
SWEATSHIRTS

There are a few extra senior sweatshirts for sale in room 1005 for $42. Come by and pick
up yours today while they last. Sizes are limited.

FFF

Food Fashion Fun will have a meeting Wednesday at lunch to discuss yearbook pics, activities,
fieldtrip, and fundraising. Come to room 705 at 12:45.

CLUB LATINO

There will be a MANDATORY Club Latino meeting TODAY at the beginning of lunch in room
317. Please be prompt. We will discuss fundraising and our trip to Disneyland.

CSF

Its time to apply for CSF membership. Seniors, Juniors, and Sophomores may pick up an
application in room 1501. Your completed application is due by Friday, February 6. A $5
donation is appreciated to help with the cost of graduation items related to Lifetime Member
achievement and our community service efforts. Seniors will be informed if the spring
semester is necessary to reach Lifetime.

BOYS TENNIS

Boys Tennis Practice Starts Monday, February 2nd at 3:30. Please be on time with your
clearances and ready to practice. Thank you Coach Cortina.

SENIORS

If you missed the senior meeting last Thursday, Please see Ms. Loving ASAP! For the Local
Scholarship application you will need to know your Total GPA and Class Rank. Ms. Loving has
that information for you, Please DO NOT ask anyone in the office to print put a transcript for
you to get that information. See Ms. Loving in Room 1002. Thank you.

TEACHER OF THE
WEEK

The teacher of the week is Mrs. Niino, students say she is sweet and makes learning fun.
Dont forget to stop by the student office to vote for your favorite teacher!!

DIVERS

Attention Divers: Please stop by Coach Loucks room (606) to pick up a sports physical form
and schedule TODAY. Practice will start on Tuesday February 3rd at 4:30. See you at the pool.

SATURDAY
SCHOOL

If you are assigned to Saturday School, it is very important to attend. If you miss two
scheduled dates in a row you may get a referral. Please make sure be responsible and attend
your assigned Saturday School.
