ItcantakeuptoaminutetoswitchtheIPaddressonaswitchover.ThereisaRSLinx2.50patchavailablethatcanreducethistime.
Thisfunctionalityisalsonotbackwardscompatible.
ThealiasswappingtoolcanstillbeusedandisgenerallyfasterthantheIPswappingdonebytheSRMs.
ENBTsstillcanonlybeusedforHMIsnotI/O.
TheapplicationprogramisloadedintotheprimaryprocessorandautomaticallytransferredtothebackupprocessorviathefiberlinkontheSRM's/RM's.Onlythe
manufacturedlengthsoffibersaresupported.Thebackupprocessordoesn'texecutetheprogram.Howeveritautomaticallyreceivesalltagsthatarechangedattheendof
eachprogramscan.Thisrequiresthewatchdogtobesetat2*programscan+100ms.Memoryusagesizeisdoubleforalltagstoallowthechangedtagstobeupdated.

IftheHMIstationisconnectedtotheprimaryviaEthernet,theswitchovertimewillbesignificantlylongerastheIPaddressesareswapped.
TogetbetterthroughputtotheHMIonaswitchoverconnect,theHMIviaEthernetinaremotechassisconnectedbacktotheprimaryviaControlNet.Thisenables
EthernettokeeprunningthroughtheswitchoverattheControlNetswitchovertime.
7.NonvolatileMemory
