The QDRC is a member based organisation. New members are always welcome. Ask
one of our members how to get involved.
The purpose of the QDRC is as follows:
1. To organize horse owners for the purpose of speaking with a larger voice on matters
of concern;
2. To promote appreciation of all horse breeds and proper and humane horsemanship
practices and methods within all equestrian disciplines;
3. To provide and promote educational events for both horse owners and non horse
owners of the community, with special emphasis on youth participation;
4. To sponsor horse shows, clinics, and events to encourage and teach principals of
good riding, horsemanship, showmanship, and overall health and welfare of the horse,
with special emphasis on the beginner and youth participant;
5. To co-operate with Horse Council British Columbia, Canadian Equestrian
Federation, and other affiliated organizations to further benefit the equestrian
community;
6. To enter into fund raising projects to enable the Society to materialise and further the
above programs and objectives.

22. Ride a Buck ( bareback ride, must hold $5.00 bill of their own under leg, last
person with their bill gets to pick up all the fallen bills)
23. Team relay Race ( saddle up and go) team of two a groom and rider. Groom
to help tack and rider rides to finish line.
24. Water in a Cup Relay Race two rides must exchange water in a cup in a
relay to finish line.
25.. Musical Stall riders muct make it to a jump standard ( instead of chair) with
their mounts when music stops.
26. Costume Class Horse and Rider ( bring on the Halloween fun one month
ahead)

General Show Rules
1. Horse Council BC / HCBC membership is mandatory for this horse show.
Please include copy of your 2015 HCBC membership card with your entry
forms.
2. The FALL FAIR FUN show will be guided by HCBC Rule book. It is the
responsibility of the competitor to read and understand all rules. Please
refer to link for details: www.hcbc.ca/forms-competitions
3. NO REFUNDS will be given without a Vet/Dr.s certificate.
4. QDRC waiver must be signed and presented to Show Secretary BEFORE
competitors are allowed to compete.
5. Disputes will be as outlined in HCBC Rule Book or at judges and show
management discretion. Any disputes are to be made in writing,
accompanied by a fee of $100. If the dispute is valid, the fee is to be
returned.
6. Management reserves the right to cancel, combine or split all classes.
7. Age categories as of January 1, 2014: Junior - 18 and under; Senior- 19
and over.
8. Stalls are available at charge of $20.00 per day. Pens available for $30.00
per day. Shaving included. $20.00 cleaning deposit required on a separate
cheque.
9. Entry Fees are due September 4, 2015.
10. Entry fees:
Hunter and Flat: Senior $10.00 / class (post-entry: $12.00) Junior
$7.00/class (post-entry: $9.00)
Game classes: $5.00 (bring a five dollar bill if entering ride-a-buck)
11. Competitors may enter a maximum of 8 classes from both Hunter over
fences and flat classes. Game classes do not count in max total of
classes.

Show GROUND RULES

Horses must be kept at a walk except in the designated warm up areas.


It is the responsibility of all competitors to be at the in-gate area at the
start of their classes.
Riders that are competing in over fences classes must wear an ASTM
or SEI approved helmet with a secure harness. The QDRC
recommends that all riders wear ASTM or SEI helmets.
All Riders must display their numbers while mounted.
Standard English and Western show attire and tack in respective
classes are encouraged.
Stallions are ONLY to be handled and ridden by sSeniors.
Any horse that is acting unruly in the ring or warm up area, posting a
danger to other competitors may be asked to leave the area. This is at
Judges and Shows Organizing Committees discretion. Should this
result in elimination out of a class or classes, there will be no refund of
entry fees.
Mistreatment of any horse on the horse show grounds, abuse or foul
language, use of alcohol or drugs by contestants, parents or guardians,
expressing discouraging behaviour towards other entrants and/or show
personnel, will result in elimination from the Show and removal from the
Show grounds, forfeiting all their entry/fees and prizes.
No dogs allowed in show area.

RELEASE: WAIVER OF LIABILITY & INDEMNITY

I hereby understand and agree that my participation at the QDRC FALL FAIR
FUN SHOW (Activities), organized, operated and conducted by Quesnel &
District Riding Club, upon the municipal property of Alex Fraser Park (the
Property) is conditional upon my execution of this document.
1.

I am aware that horseback riding, and in particular jumping, hack and


western riding, involves the possibility of serious injuries resulting from
falls, such as spinal cord injury and brain injury, or death.

2.

I accept these risks, and all others arising from the Activities and/or the
condition of the Property, even if arising from the negligence, gross
negligence or negligent rescue by those judging, instructing,
organizing, officiating, or participating in the Activities, including the
Quesnel & District Riding Club, Alex Fraser Park Society, the Quesnel Fall
Fair, the City of Quesnel, & Cariboo Regional District, and their respective
officers, directors, employees, agents, servants, contractors, volunteers
and representatives (the Releasees).

3.

I give a FULL RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY AND ALL


CLAIMS that I have, or may have in the future, against Quesnel &
District Riding Club and the Releasees from all liability for any loss,
damage, injury or expense that I may suffer as a result of my participation
in any part or parts of the Activities or the condition of the Property, due to
any cause whatsoever, including the forms of negligence set forth in
paragraph 2 above or from any breach of contract or statutory duty or
other duty of care, including any duty of care owed under the relevant
Occupiers Liability Act on the part of the Releasees.

I AGREE NOT TO SUE and I FURTHER AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND


SAVE HARMLESS the Releasees from all expense, fees, liability or
damage award or cost of any type whatsoever arising from my
participation in the Activities and the condition of the Property.

I HAVE READ AND UNDERSTOOD THIS WAIVER, RELEASE OF LIABILITY &
INDEMNITY. I am aware that by signing this agreement I am waiving
substantial legal rights on my behalf and on behalf of my heirs, executors,
administrators and next of kin, including giving up my right to sue.

PARENTAL CONSENT FOR MINOR PARTICIPANT & INDEMNITY


AGREEMENT
I have read and understood the above waiver, release of liability & indemnity
agreement, and have discussed the same with the minor person signing above. I
am satisfied the said minor understands the waiver, release of liability and
indemnity and his/her obligations as set out. In consideration of the participation
of my minor child/ward I too agree to waive, release and indemnify the
Releasees in the terms set out above.
I am aware that by signing this
agreement, I am waiving substantial legal rights, which my minor child/ward and
I, our respective heirs, executors, administrators and next of kin may have
against the Releasees.
