PIDATO BAHASA INGGRIS

Assalamualaikum wr wb
I am very happy because of this chance to stand together with these great people in this podium.
Let us thank God for giving health and valuable opportunity for being here.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Have you ever seen the students smoke? Have you ever seen the students truant? Have you ever
seen the students brawl? And have you ever heard of the students that involved in free sex?
I think all will be say "yes". This means that moral attitudes of Indonesian teenagers have turned
away from the values and norms of the real the real Indonesia. Everyone involved in those bad
things are students, the young people who should have the best ethics because they have been
educated through educational institutions.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Why are all the things happen? Before you answer it, I want to express an opinion. In Indonesia,
I see the demand of academic value is so high. When the students get the higher score, parents,
teachers, and all those around the will be more proud of these achievements. It makes us all
forget a really important thing, the moral education.
Students continue to be encouraged for studying hard, but they are not given the opportunity to
build a social life, emotional intelligence, and spiritual. Every day, students are only given
Mathematics, Science, Language education, Physics, and Chemistry. All of those must be learned
and memorized.
Because of too much academic material, students do not get a portion of moral education. As a
result, they are easily tempted to commit immoral acts and even criminality. They understand
that the most important is the score at the end of the test, but not includes attitudes in society.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Of course, we all very disappointed to see the moral of Indonesian students who are increasingly
low and are at the destruction. This should not be allowed to continue and must be addressed
properly. It requires the cooperation of all human parents, educators, and government in order to
create the moral intelligence decreases.
Let us create a learning system that is accompanied by moral exhortation, good behavior, and a
discipline that makes students not only have a high score, but also a good morality.

Do not give up, keep fighting, and be the noble of education.

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

Judges, participants, and all audience present here today.
Alhamdulillah for all the blessings that Allah has been giving us, especially the young
generation. It is because we are the pillars of this lovely country, Indonesia. As Soekarno has
said, Give me ten young men, Ill shake the world. This was to show how important the youth
is to a country.
Then, how to get there? Education is one of the most important aspects in developing the
nations morality, especially for the young generation. Educational institution such as schools
should be able to raise, develop, and maintain students creativity and skills. However, what has
happened so far is exactly the opposite. Some schools have become not more than just a cage to
their students.
How could this happen? Teachers are supposed to guide students through character building.
Ironically, however, some of them have become the cause to the students moral degradation by
involving violence in their classrooms. Some teachers have misunderstood their concept of
discipline. They still pinch or even punch students in class. It is very fatal when teachers involve
violence in maintaining classroom discipline. Thats because violence will only lead to other
violence. This can be a boomerang for the school itself. Students who experience violence from
their teachers will become destructive students who will likely do violence to their peers.
According to the National Constitution No. 23 year 2002 about children protection, this kind
of phenomenon should be banned in schools. In article 54 of the constitution its said that
children inside or around the school must be protected from violence done by anyone. This is
also in accordance to the UNs memorandum concerning childrens rights.
Not only teachers, some students are also actors of violence in schools. Bullying is one
phenomenon to prove this. They are the actors of violence to other students when they bully their
peers. Any kinds of violence in schools should not be present in schools in any situation and for
any reasons. Its because violence will give bad impacts to the students.
Physically, violence will make the students wounded, injured, or experience any other
physical disorders. Psychologically, violence will lead to depression, demotivation, inferiority,
fearful, insecure, and any other impacts that will eventually result in the decline of achievement.
To overcome this problem, there should be a clear understanding that violence is not a
solution. Teachers, parents, and students should share the same opinion about this. Moreover,
schools should include humanity in their teaching and learning process. Religious and moral
values in line with the national culture are other important aspects that should also be included.
In this way, students will get their rights and the young generation will develop more.
Lets hope that there will be no more violence in the name of education now and forever.
Thank you very much.

Assalamualaikum Wr.Wb.
Firstly, I would like to say thank you very much for the MC and juries who have given me
opportunity to deliver this English speech.
Ladies and Gentlemen;
It is a great honor for me to stand here and give a brief speech entitled Formal Education
in Indonesia
Brothers and Sisters;
Education system in our country is divided into two major parts, they are formal and
non-formal. A formal education is divided into three levels: primary, secondary and
tertiary education. While non-formal education is carried out for the learners who get
difficulties to meet the requirements in formal education. An example of non-formal
education is PLS (Pendidikan Luar Sekolah). Both formal and non-formal education aim
at establishing the education process in our country.
Ladies and Gentlemen;
As I have stated previously, formal education involves three levels: primary, secondary
and tertiary education. Before entering primary or elementary school, children in our
country usually have attended kindergarten, or known as Taman Kanak-kanak. But this
education is not compulsory for Indonesian citizens, as the aim of this is just to prepare
them for primary school.
Children ages 712 attend primary education at Elementary School or Sekolah Dasar.
This level of education is compulsory for all Indonesian citizens. Similar to education
systems in the U.S. and Australia, students must study for six years to complete this level.
Some schools offer an accelerated learning program, where students who perform well
can finish elementary school in five years.
The next level is secondary education. After graduating from elementary school, students
attend Middle School or Junior High School (Sekolah Menengah Pertama) for three years
from the age of 13-15. After three years of schooling and graduation, students may move
on to Senior High School. In Indonesia, this school is basically divided into two kinds:
SMA (Sekolah Menengah Atas) and SMK (Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan). SMA is
different with SMK in their studies. The students at SMA are prepared to advance to
tertiary education or university, while students of SMK as a vocational school are
prepared to be ready to work after finishing their school without going to
university/college.
The last level of education in our country is tertiary education. Students who have
graduated from senior high school may attend to university or academy. They can choose
any kinds of university or academy based on their interests or scopes of knowledge, for
example majoring in English, Mathematics, or teacher training university.

Ladies and Gentlemen;

Brothers and Sisters;
I think thats all my speech. I hope my brief description on the formal education in our
country will be useful for us.
Finally, I would like to say sorry if there are mistakes in my speech words.
Thank you very much for your attention.
