Publication Plan

Title:

Sharp

Positioning statement: Getting under your skin

Frequency of publication: Monthly
Price: 3.25
Distribution: Newsagents, supermarkets, music shops
Rationale: The main purpose of this magazine is to engage
with those who are interested in/are a part of the indie music
scene. This will be done through competitions, letters and a
Q&A section, which will involve the readers in the content of
the magazine, making it more relatable to them. Sharp will
also inform readers about indie music, new and old, and what is
going on in general within the scene this will be done through
interviews with musicians, reviews and an update of the latest
indie/rock/indie-rock artists.
Style: There will be a relatively informal style so that the target
audience (aged approximately around 15 30) with identify
with the content. However, there will be an air of sophistication
to the wording of articles, while simultaneously including
humour and a youthful vibe (this will be done through the
language used, i.e. modern terms/phrases/references) this will
also be reflected in the physical appearance of the magazine.
