Title:

cool

Positioning Statement: Cool Music. Cool Insights. Cool Interviews.

Frequency of publication: Monthly
Distribution: Newsagents and supermarkets, HMV, live music venues
Price: 2.80
Rationale: Created by fans of indie/alternative rock, for fans of indie/alternative rock.
There arent any well known indie rock music magazines. This provides a massive gap in
the market for

c o o l magazine. The magazine is mainly about providing for the

audience who appreciate good indie and alternative rock music. We have come up with
the perfect mix of audience input , our own opinions and factual inputs that gives the
audience an insight into what's going on in the music business right now. We will
regularly include surveys on our website to update our magazine with what the audience
want to see.
Style: Quirky and calm style that both appeals to a teenage audience and an adult
audience due to its professional feel. The language isnt too technical and the information
given is in short snappy paragraphs to engage readers without them becoming bored.
The magazine will use humour to make it more personal, and show that all of our team
are fans of indie/alternative rock just like the audience.
Regular Content
Song of the Month: a small section of the contents page will be taken to explore this
feature. In this section (listed nearby the editor's letter) there will be the songs name, the
artist who performs it, a thumbnail of the single or album cover (depending on whether
the song has been released as a single or not, however, the song can be bought on its
own on iTunes) and a small paragraph by one of our team who tell us why they like the
song.
News: (not gossip) A fact based insight into whats been going on in the music industry
in the month.
Question of the Month: A selection of questions sent in by our fans are shown. The
question carefully selected by our team to be the question of the month (shown bigger
on the page) will be the one asked in the interview in the next issue.
Charts: Includes the UK and US Indie and Alternative Charts (top 100)
Ones to Watch: We interview up and coming artists and musicians. This week, The
