Tuning Fork Therapy

By Francine Milford

Using Tuning Forks on the Chakras

The following information is taken from the book,

Tuning Fork Therapy, Level One Manual.

Copyright2002Francine Milford

1
Using the Tuning Forks in a Healing Session

You will complete your session by using the high C tuning fork on the Soul
Chakra, which is 12" above the crown of the head, and then, you will go to 12"
below the feet and use the C (256) tuning fork.
When working with a client or volunteer, you will work on the front
chakras first. When finished, you will have your client or volunteer turn over so
that you may repeat the process on the back chakras.
I highly suggest that you work on volunteers first before you begin
accepting paying clients for your work. With volunteers, you will quickly gain an
understanding and confidence working with tuning forks.
You will have to work on the speed with which you will perform the
spiraling. Practice both slower swirls and faster swirls. Ask your volunteer for
feedback as to what they are experiencing with each speed of spiraling. Stop if
volunteer feels uncomfortable in any way.

2
Using the Spiral Technique in a Healing Session
Strike the tuning fork and begin making a large spiral starting at the Root
Chakra. As you slowly raise your hand upward, make the spiral smaller and
smaller until you have reached a point at about 12" above the body. You will
continue this over each Chakra, ending at the crown.

How to hold your Tuning Fork for the Spiral Technique.

You will hold the tuning fork loosely between your thumb and index finger.
Keep your wrist relaxed. One of the benefits of using unweighted tuning forks
is that you can hold your hand in this position for longer periods of time.
The lighter the set, the easier it is on your fingers, hands and wrists. This is
something you will have to consider especially if you suffer from arthritic
fingers and wrists.
A session that is uncomfortable for you will restrict the flow of energy
from you to your client.
Remember, louder is not always better and bigger is not always better. Trust
your own judgment and intuition in this matter.

3
Next, you will begin the second part of the tuning fork session. You will
strike the tuning fork and, using the Horizontal Technique, pass it a total of
three times over the Chakra starting at one side of the body to the other and
back again (for a count of 20 seconds).
I usually stand on the left side of the client and pass the tuning fork from
left to right and back to left again. You will take the tuning fork away and shake
it off. You will repeat the entire process for a total of three times.

Using the Spiral Technique in a Healing Session

This technique is great for a beginner tuning fork session, as well as a great
way to open each chakra. This session is done in a progressive way. We begin at
the Root Chakra and, using the C (256) tuning fork, we continue up the Chakra
System. You will work on yourself first and write down your observations
below:

Root

Sacral

Solar Plexus

Heart

Throat

Brow

Crown

22
Closing the Session

How do I close the Tuning Fork Session?

When finished with the entire session (front and back of the client), I then
proceed to "Close" the aura of the client. My favorite way of doing this is to use
the "Wave" technique.
I will use the Middle C tuning fork (or the Om fork, if you have one).
Strike the tuning fork and while it is still vibrating, slowly pass the fork about
12" above the client’s body, at the top right-hand side of the client’s Soul
Chakra down the right side of the client's body, to 12" below the feet at the
Earth Chakra, and back up again along the same pathway to the Soul Star
Chakra. Shake off the tuning fork.
Strike the tuning fork a second time and pass the vibrating tuning fork from
the center of the Soul Chakra, down the center of the client's body, to the Earth
Chakra and back up the body again. Shake off the tuning fork.
Strike the tuning fork for a third time and pass the vibrating tuning fork
from the left side of the Soul Chakra, down the left side of the client's body, to
the Earth Chakra, and back up the body again. Shake off the tuning fork.
If you like, you may have the client turn over so that you may repeat this
entire process on the other side of the client's body. You may also repeat this
process for as many times as you "feel" the client may need it. This technique
will help to "smooth" out the chakras’ energies, and also to remove any debris
in the auric field.
After making the pass at 12" above the body, you may wish to make a
second pass this time at about 4”-6" above the body. This will more directly
affect the physical chakras’ energies.

Francine Milford has attained Reiki Mastership through several lineages and
brings her combined knowledge of energy work into her classes. Having
experience in the Fitness Industry as a Personal Trainer and Aerobic Instructor,
she has created a series of workshops and classes that combine the Body, the
Mind, and the Spirit.
Francine offers a warm “can do” attitude in relating her own story of
healing from debilitating and blinding migraines and constant panic attacks.
Through combining breathing techniques, relaxation techniques, diet and
exercise, along with Reiki, Francine has been symptom free for over five years.
It was during this time that Francine discovered her severe reactions to
chemical drugs that were first prescribed to her by conventional doctors. "I
didn't want to live like a zombie, dependent on pills. I wanted my health back
and I began to search for the answers." Her search led her to study Herbology,
Aromatherapy, Acupressure, Reflexology, and others forms of Alternative
Therapy.
After several years of study and practicing various methods and techniques,

24
Reiki was the icing on the cake. Francine now teaches courses in Alternative
Therapies, both on site and by correspondence courses. Students can work at
their own pace, one lesson at a time.
“Music has always been a part of my life and has affected me in many ways.
I have played the piano since the age of 7. Later, I tried my hand at the clarinet,
guitar, flute, and drums.
When tuning forks were first offered on the market, I was immediately
drawn to them and the beautiful crystal resonance they provide. It wasn’t until
years later that I began to use tuning forks in my healing sessions for others.
I now teach courses in Tuning Fork Therapy and offer three levels of
Tuning Therapy manuals. I believe in empowering my students."
Francine is hardly finished in her learning of additional systems of healing.
"With every new system of healing, there is something I can take away and
incorporate into my own practice. Learning never ends and I am enjoying the
journey."
