1. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson the students will be able to:

Identify the form of the song by writing letters(ABA) on the sections of the
music.

Motivation
o show a picture of a star glowing in the sky
o ask the students what song to incorporate with the picture
Objective
o "Today we will be discussing about a new element of music, the form"
Review/Prerequisite
o singing (do-sol)
o steady beat while moving
o creative dance steps and movements
4. Ask the students questions like when does this line repeat?, is
this line the same as this?, what is the difference of this line to
this? pointing on the projected music sheet can help the
students analyse the song.
5. Identify the form in the class discussion. Since this is Grade 1, I
suggest that instead of just talking about it, you have them do
another movement activity or something to identify form.

SUMMARY
What is a form?
How to divide music in parts with the use of letters? This question is not
necessary it will just confuse them.
7. ASSIGNMENT
Identify your favourite nursery rhyme and be able to analyse its form.
Write its lyrics on a short bond paper and put letters A B C to divide it by
its sections.
Not appropriate for Grade 1 this kind of independent activity is a
challenge for them. Have this as another class activity instead they need
you to be around to be able to do this.
