EOI Biometric Application
General Overview
The bank intends to procure and deploy a Customer Verification System, to verify
customer identity. The solution should cater to over 1.5 million customers. The
biometric solution must be built around an Extensible and Scalable Authentication
Framework. The biometric service oriented architecture must include:
1. Client Browser to provide user interface on the user device, image retrieval from
the reader, creation of the template, and device-level security.
2. Application Server to manage communications between attached client devices
and the biometric Authentication Server. The server should be deployable on any
number of servers at any number of locations, allowing secure access control across
the enterprise.
3. Biometric Authentication Server for performing all back-end functions involved in
enrolling and authenticating users.
Future expansion
The solution should be provided with necessary APIs for future integration into the
Core Banking System and include biometric authentication for the bank officers. The
solution should extend to provide Single Sign On solution for logical access to banks
applications.
Fingerprint enrolment:
All ten fingerprints need to be enrolled and deduplication process must be run to
weed out duplicates from the system
The finger image should be digitized and the data encrypted and converted to a
mathematical template representing the features of the fingerprint and using more
than 40 levels of image enhancement to create a highly discriminate template and
significantly reduce the possibility of a false acceptance or false rejection response
during authentication.
Key Features of proposed Solution:
Unique 40+ level fingerprint image enhancement filters guaranteeing both low
false match and false reject rates
Reader interoperability so a user can enrol on one device and authenticate on any
other device in any authorized location or facility
Standards Support
WSQ compression
NFIQ Quality
Standard image input file formats include BMP, RAW, and WSQ
Biometric Hardware
The enrolment of customers biometric fingerprint data will be carried using wide
platen fingerprint sensor. The fingerprint sensor should accommodate enrolment of 4
fingers thereby enabling a 4+4+2 fingerprint enrolment.
