I.OBJECTIVES:
A. Content Standards:
How cell divide to produce new cells.
B. Performance Standards:
Report on the importance of variation in plant and animal breeding
C. Learning Competencies
Code: S8LT-IVd-16
Compare mitosis and meiosis, and their role in the cell division cycle.
Specific Objectives:
1. Identify the types of cell division.
2. Describe and explain cell cycle.
3. Make a cell cycle wheel using recyclable materials.
II.CONTENT:
A. Topic: Cell Cycle
B. Concepts:
1. Cell division is important in sex cells reproduction and for growth of an
organism. There are two types of cell division, namely, mitosis and meiosis.
2. The cell cycle is divided into main stages: the interphase or non-dividing stage
and mitotic or dividing stage. The cell cycle describes what happens to the each
stage of cell division.
