Description of how to implement in the class:
The equipment needed for this lesson includes a computer for the teacher and three printed
worksheets for each student. The teacher will start the lesson by opening BrainPop.com. He/she
will pull up all relevant and related videos about smoking. After the class is done watching the
videos the teacher will pass out three worksheets via the link above. As a class and at times
individually the students will define vocabulary in regards to smoking. The students will also
apply what they have learned in the beginning of the lesson by analyzing and evaluating the effects
of smoking.
Students will be assessed on their understanding of the effects of smoking via the teacher grading
the three worksheets the students did in class. Students will also be assessed on their
understanding of the lesson through a group project and presentation. Students will have creative
freedom in regards to how their group presents their project.
