Teaching Philosophy
As teachers, we have the power to make a difference in the present but also in the future.

than anyone else, educators have the privilege and the responsibility of shaping future citizens. It
is imperative that teachers are aware of this power, to use it for the betterment of the world in all

Education
This classroom incorporated center-based learning. For math and reading especially, I was able to
cater toward individual and small group needs through the use of ability grouped centers. These
BACHELOR OF ARTS centers allowed me to attend to particular needs and work closely with individuals on specific

Rochester Center for Autism/January 2015-February 2016
Through the experience of working with children with Autism I was able to put into practice many
of theories taught in University including the behaviorist approach and cognitive child
development theory. One of the major theories I was able to implement was positive
reinforcement. This has had a great impact on the behavior management I use today.

INCLUSION STAFF
Madison School & Community Recreation/May 2016-August 2016
During the summer intermediate camp, I worked with students with varying disabilities on
academic and social skills. I applied behavior management techniques utilized by most school
districts including choice theory and positive reinforcement. Student disabilities ranged from
Autism to deaf and blind.
