XAT Entrance Test


January 4, 2004
We are happy to present you a comprehensive analysis of the at 2004 held on 4th January 2004. It has been recreated with the help of PT
faculty and PT students from across the nation. The entrance test for XAT had the same pattern as last year except the sectional
time limit. There were 3 sections in all. The number of questions in each section was same.
Section wise break off is given below

20 minutes for writing an essay was allowed after the objective paper.

A few major changes / surprises


There were different time limits for Maths and General Knowledge section.
Maths - surprisingly was easy and manageable for the students.
Language section was also on the manageable side.

The Marking Scheme : The answers had to be marked with an HB pencil only.
There was one mark for every correct answer
and 1/3 negative marking for every wrong answer.
Sectional cut-off : There were sectional cut-offs.

Section 3 : Mathematics And Data Interpretation


DIRECTION : 10 boxes each has n balls each ,u have a spring balance which can measure accurate weights. Each ball is 100g. Only
one box contains lighter balls of 90 g each. U can take out any number of balls from any number of boxes m = number of minium
weighings.
