You are going to see images of five cities and their landmarks. Write a
paragraph describing each city and country it belongs and the landmark shown.
Use the vocabulary from the box for the descriptions. The first one is done for
you as an example. / A continuacin ver imgenes de cinco ciudades y sus
lugares representativos. Escriba un prrafo describiendo cada ciudad, el pas al
que pertenece y el lugar mostrado. Use el vocabulario dentro del recuadro para

New York is a big city in the


United States (North
America). It takes thousand of
visitors every year. The city
has a population of around 8
million people. There is a lot
to see and do in New York.
You can visit the Central Park,
the Metropolian museum and
Times Square. In the picture
you can see the Statue of
Liberty, a monumet built
between 1875 and 1986. It is
93 meters tall. The statue is
New York (USA) The Statue of Liberty
located on Liberty Island in
the Hudson River.
The square of Saint Peter is
one of the most beautiful and
big squares in the world. It is
located in the Vatican, at the
foot of St. Peter's Basilica.
The dimensions of the square
are spectacular: 320 meters in
length and 240 meters in
width. In the most important
liturgies and events St. Peter's
Square has reached more than
300,000 people.
The construction of the
square was carried out

Located in the capital of New
South Wales, Australia, the
Sydney Opera House is one of
the most famous buildings in
the world, as well as being
one of the most important
theaters in the world. It is

representative building,
although until 1958 in
Bennelong Point, where the
Opera is, there was only one
Sydney (Australia) The Sydney Opera train station of little

bay in which it stands and the

The Edinburgh Castle is an
old fort that makes up one of
the most emblematic places of

center.

road to the castle is the steep
Edinburgh (Scotland) Edinburgh Castle Castlehill, at the beginning of
the Royal Mile, one of the
busiest avenues in the city
that runs to the Palace of
Holyroodhouse
The Burj Khalifa (Califa Tower)
is the tallest building in the
world with a height of 828
meters. More than 12,000
people from 30 countries
participated in the
construction of the building. It
was formerly known as Burj
Dubai.
To get an idea of its height it is
best to compare it with the
most famous skyscraper in
the world, the Empire State of
Dubai (United Arab Emirates) The Burj New York. At 381 meters high
Khalifa (431 if we include its antenna),
the New York skyscraper is
half that of the Burj Khalifa.

The construction of the Burj


Khalifa began on 21
September 2004 and ended on
4 January 2010, more than a
year later than expected. The
skyscraper stands out for
having a large number of
residential plants, something
unusual so far
