VISTA is not only a robust, stand-alone seismic processing software package but it also
provides users easy-to-use tools to convert file formats so that other applications (that are not
Schlumberger
compatible) can communicate with each other.

The velocity file now appears in the Group data list.
We will use this file as input into the job flow to create the SEG-Y
dataset.
To be able to load this SEG-Y into Petrel, we need to have the X,Y,
Inline and Crossline information in the headers.
Method 1 Modify Headers using Standard SEG-Y Dictionary
The Standard SEG-Y dictionary does not output the inlines and crosslines.
Schlumberger
Schlumberger-Private
There are a number of ways you can modify the flow or data to get the inline, crossline information output in the
SEG-Y.
So we will modify the headers so that SHOT_POINT_NO and CHANNEL_NO contain the inline and crossline
information.
