    Sikagard -700 WT
    Siloxane impregnation for concrete and masonry substrates


    Description Sikagard -700 WT is a 1-pack solvent free aqueous emulsion of a
    modified polymethyl siloxane. It is developed for the water-repellent
    impregnation of facades. This product is effective on both alkaline and
    neutral substrate.

    Uses Fields of application according to ZTV-SIB 90-OS-A and OS-B. Impregna

    Please note : Where the masonry substrates are containing salts
    (efflorescene) the Aquastop cannot penetrate enough into the pores of the
    substrate, thus leading to further efflorescence even after hydrophobing.

    Sikagard -700 WT is mainly used to protect facades and exposed
    concrete or cementitious mortar surfaces of roads, bridges, pavements etc.
    against water ingress and the risk of damage caused by water born polutants.

    Sikagard -700 WT is also used as a hydrophobing primer underneath
    protective coatings. For more information please contact our technical service
    department. Do not use on green concrete.

    Material consumption Approx. 0,2 kg/m2 per application for substrates with normal absorbency.
    Material consumption and the number of applications depend entirely on the
    surface condition and porosity; in case of doubt a test should be carried out
    in ourder to find the exact material consumption and number of applications
    required.

    Hints on application Areas such as window frams, which are to receive a protective coating, must

    be masked prior to application of Sikagard -700 WT.

    Area not to be impregnated, such as window panes, etc. which are in danger of

    being contamianted with Sikagard -700 WT should also be carefully masked
    prior to application, as the material cannot be removed afterwards from glass.

    Important : When applying Sikagard -700 WT care must be taken where
    there are fitted cable lines, plastic control panels or similar. Whereas PVC

    is resistant to Sikagard -700 WT, polystyrene elements and other plastic
    parts may get damaged.

    Condition of substrate Free of dust, soot and dirt, lime efflorescence, salt and paint remnants
    etc.must be removed, if necessary with suitable detergents or by light
    sand blasting or steam cleaning.

    Surface preparation The best impregnation effect is achieved on dry, very absorbent surface,

    although Sikagard -700 WT can also be successfully employed on a slightly
    damp surface (moisture content not more than 5% by weight).

    For fair-faced concrete the application of a test area is strongly recommend


    (observe moisture level near substrate down to a depth of approx.
    2 cm < 5% pbw).

    If there are joints to be filled on concrete surfaces which have been



    impregnated with Sikagard -700 WT, e.g. precast concrete elements,
    adhesion to these pretreated surfaces will not be impaired. Naturally, the
    primers corresponding with respective products must always be used.


    Mixing Sikagard -700 WT can be diluted with water at the ratio of
