ESSAY
As an operational manager of medic at Hospital Operator Company, I have responsibility

to ensure the hospital services working properly. I was lucky among nursing graduation, having
this opportunity, who got this job that have widespread access to the ins and outs of hospital
services. It was a pride, working in dynamic environment and having many relations from various
disciplines. By structural, I was directly instructed to control medical services, providing the needs
of medical instruments, medical support, and giving services to users complaints.
My duties are focused on minimizing the barriers that can be occured during medical
services be operated for 24 hours, working with other teams including of administration staff who
are very helpful to make services be given smoothly. In Indonesia, we are one of few number of
companies that provide services to hospital, the clients who need help, how to run the Hospital
business, minimizing the risk of loss but also can increase the profits, directly proportional to the
increasing quality of services. Ensuring the target be reached based on our client's expectations. It
was important for every individual employee, including me to understand the government's
policies, regarding the quality of hospital services.
We work on contract which was mutually agreed, and considering the problems which
were experienced by clients. Before providing the services, I must be responsible to get the task to
seek hospital operational permit issued by local government, and Ministries of Law and Human
Rights. Instructing the team to work properly based on the duties. Of course this is not a light task,
much needs to be addressed and prepared, ranging from licensing arrangements such as Hospital
Licence, Environment Licence, Waste Licence, recruitment, drafting medical support equipment,
medical waste management procedures, blue print of Hospital building, standard room
arrangement, registration of employee based on their profession, filing of pharmacy installation
permit, and other units. Some of these tasks and responsibilities surely require precision,
perseverance and patience. I learned a lot how to grow a good business by making a good
relationships, setting achievement goals, running work programs in accordance with the target
time, and growing relations with some suppliers of medical equipment and drugs.
As a part of hospital operator, certainly I must showed the quality of our services. Starting
from signing contract until the Operating Licence be published. The result should be indicated by
monthly cash flows, also by increasing number of patients who were interested to have benefits of
its hospital services. I love the job because of human resources qualities, and the pattern of work
communication between the leaders with subordinates. In this company I can improve my
communication skills, and critical thinking skills. We want to do the best by giving the best, so
that the clients do not complain about companys performance.
For example, when I was given the task to prepare the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for
immediately. Based on many factors such are building preparation, human resources, and financial
strength of the owner, I was targeting that the latest ICU space will be operated two weeks away.
In the previous week, I have proposed several instruments that must be completed for ICU. The
procedures be started by applying PO to the director at the first, then the commissioner, after setting
up a contest performance schedule for each appointed suppliers of medical equipment. In the next
week, I've pocketed the instrument based on owner's approval. Preparation of ICU chambers in
two weeks were enough, ranging from spatial layout arrangement, vinyl installation, isolation
room preparation with UV rays, Air Conditioner installation, Ners Station Set, guard arrangement,
monitor installation and other instruments such as mayo tables, bed monitors, lockers,
decontamination room and patients bathroom, as well as changing rooms and other preparations.
Based on the performance record, I managed ICU for fourteen working days. So, the newest ICU
have seven beds capacities and two beds for two isolation rooms. And I can proved that on the last
day, the room was able to provide intensive medical services. Previously, only able to receive as
many as 4 patients per day. Increasing the quality of this service, automatically provide hospital
income. I am much grateful to get work experience that not everyone can get it. Especially access
to hospital business is quite tempting.
I believe with all my experiences I am the right person for the job. I can learning fast and
establish very good relations between the relevant workers. Able to handling the task as well as
the target that given to me. Working by heart with the team and always courage my self to become
the best. Australian embassy has given me the way to achieve the dream of working in a wider
scope and the vacancy is allowing me to increase my capacity to show how far my limits. Working
in international environment is my dream, especially at the foreign embassies. Australia is the right
choice along with the development of political issues between Indonesia and Australia.
The relations between Indonesia and Australia have been establised very well, such as the
visiting number of Australians to many tourist attractions in Indonesia, the students exchange,
cultural exchanges, and the growth of beneficial economic investment from the natural resources
sectors. This sould be a particular concern, programs that have been implemented must be
intensified, and programs that have not been implemented can be achieved immediately. Surely,
only with the good communication that can be conveyed according to the intent and purpose.
I hope that with my presence as a part of The Australian Embassy will be able to become
a bridge for establishing a good relationship between Australia and Indonesia. The strenght of a
good relationship between individuals can be very important contribution for a much larger
relationship. For that long-time, I have equipped my self with communication ability by using
therapeutic communication. So, we can appreciate each others. It will invite others to participate
in any constructive planning. I think this is very important, both of countries are able to convey
the intent and purpose of every political policies. Either Indoenesia or Australia will be understood
that the policies will be mutual interest, not just personal interest.
