SHOTS) almost everyone is using them. But have you ever thought,
what if emoji's become their own language? We're here to
investigate whether emoji's are dumbing down our society

perhaps, providing a universal language bridge for all (PEOPLE
TALKING BUT ON PHONE) . All this, in Emoji: The Language.

PRESENTER: With over 6 billion emoji sent each day, it's no wonder it has turned
INTRODUCTION global over the decade. Popularity with emoji's is rapidly growing,
with mugs, clothes, speakers and even food featuring these visual
bundles of emotions. (PRESENTER SHOT SITTING DOWN,

the emoji movie has recently been released, receiving unfavourable
backlash from the public (archival footage of emoji movie) and only
a 9% rating on rotten tomatoes! (picture of rating) Nonetheless,
whether or not the negative stigma around emojis exists, theres not
denying that they are in demand. (background footage)

PRESENTER: We're here at Solihull Sixth Form to find out, what are emojis?

PRESENTER: Although these harmless faces may be used by everyone, they are
MIDDLE, BODY still raising eyebrows amongst academics. It is argued that they are
dumbing down our language and supposedly reverting us back to the

Similarly, we can compare the current emoji's to Egyptian
