EFFECT OF PLYOMETRIC EXERCISE DEPTH JUMP AND KNEE TUCK JUMP TO

THE RESULT A FAR KICK ATHLETE FOOTBALL PLAYER

AT SMP NEGERI 2 KASIHAN, BANTUL

INTRODUCTION

Exercise is a competitive physical activity in a game (Malatesta, 2003) in this case is soccer

sport. Each group consists of eleven players (Kepmeneg pora, 2008). Football games are many

factors that influence success, one that is very supportive is power limbs at the time of the kick

bounce and hard would require maximum leg muscle power (Weineck, 2000). Increased limb

power is a very complex process in which several different aspects are interconnected in a series

of supporting components, among others, flexibility of joint components, tendon strength, balance

and motor control, to muscle strength, muscle work balance, muscle flexibility and muscle

endurance.

Matavulj (2005) in his study said that the application of pliometric exercise in adolescents

proved to reduce the average level of knee injury, especially on the Anterior cruciatum ligament

because according to Chu (1992). Brandon (2006) says exercise for adolescents aged 12-15 years

is good for growth and development because at that age strength can still be formed simultaneously

with the development of an ongoing neuromusculuskletal system and in middle age is very

appropriate in the development of basic skills in the field of sports, especially soccer.

Radcliffe & Farentinos (2002) say that there are several types of pliometric exercises,

among others depth jump and knee tuck jump. Depth jump is a form of pliometric exercise that

aims to increase limb power by jumping off the bench and then landing, followed by high jumps,

in exercises with 60% strength and 40% speed. While knee tuck jump is a form of exercise
performed by doing 1 time leap up with 2 limbs raised to chest height, in the exercise knee tuck

jump contrast to the percentage of 60% speed and 40% strength.

Markovic's research (2007) concluded that pliometric exercises can increase limb power

with results at an 87% depth jump, 85% jump jump, 85% jump, 47% jump jump. The Evidence

Base states that there is a significant increase in limb power in the application of pliometric

exercises of 82%, and Knee Tuck Jump 84% (Spurrs, 2003 and Holcomb, 2003). Dose of

pliometric exercise application for 6 weeks, 3 times per week done 2 - 3 sets with the number of

repetitions 8-12 times with rest period 2 - 3 minutes on the sidelines of the set (Kisner and Colby,

1996).

Physiotherapy has a role to increase limb power to improve the ability of long-stomach

kicks, as stated in KEPMENKES 1363 Article 1 of 2001 Article 1 Paragraph 2 that: Physiotherapy

as a form of health care aimed at individuals or groups in order to develop, maintain and restore

motion and body functions throughout the life cycle, using manual handling of increased motion,

equipment (physical, electrotherapeutic, mechanical) functional and communication training. In

the field of sports, the role of physiotherapy can be applied by analyzing and designing an exercise.

Effect of depth jump plyometric exercise and knee tuck jump to the result a far kick on a beginner

football athlete at SMP Negeri 2 Kasihan, Bantul.

Objectives in this study the researchers tried to sort out the General Objective to determine

the difference in the influence of pliometric exercise depth jump and knee tuck jump to the result

a far kick. Specific Objectives: 1) To know the effect of depth jump plyometry training on the

result of soccer kicks at beginner soccer at SMP Al-Firdaus Surakarta, 2) To know the effect of

plyometric training knee tuck jump on the result of soccer athlete at SMP Negeri 2 Kasihan, Bantul.
