RESOLUTION NO.

A RESOLUTION CREATING A CONSTITUTIONAL COMMISSION


FOR THE AMENDMENT OF THE CONSTITUTION OF THE
BUKIDNON STATE UNIVERSITY LAW STUDENT GOVERNMENT

WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 1 of Article V of the Constitution of the


Bukidnon State University Law Student Government, an amendment to the
same may be proposed by the Executive Board, upon a majority vote of all its
voting members.

WHEREAS, the Executive Board of the Law Student Government has


determined it to be necessary and desirable to amend the Constitution in order
to effectively meet the changing needs of the organization and of the entire
studentry.

WHEREAS, the Constitution is silent with regards to the drafting process


of amending the same;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Mara Genina C. Unabia and with the


concurrence of the majority of the members of the Executive Board, be it:

RESOLVED, that the Executive Board hereby establishes a Constitutional


Commission, hereinafter referred to as the “Commission,” consisting of five
commissioners, with the following powers and duties:
1. To elect among themselves the officers of the Commission, namely:
Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer, and that the
responsibilities of the respective officers shall be mirrored and adopted
from that of the responsibilities of the members of the Executive Board
having the same capacities as them, as provided in Sections 6 to 9 of
Article II of the Constitution;
2. To appoint an Adviser, elected by the members of the Commission
themselves, to oversee the constitution-drafting process;
3. To study, deliberate and prepare the necessary reforms in the drafting
of the new Constitution;
4. To document, in a concise and timely manner, the important items that
are to be presented, discussed and taken in the drafting of the same;
5. To approve the same by a two-thirds vote of all the members of the
Commission; and
6. To submit the approved draft Constitution to the Electoral and Judicial
Tribunal for the ratification of the same, with the concurrent approval
of the majority of the Executive Board to adopt the said draft.

RESOLVED FURTHER, that the Executive Board shall appoint the


following persons as members of the Commission, namely: Terence L.
Valdehueza as a representative of the same, Karlin Malaya E. Dalena as a
representative of the Bar Operations Commission, Jovelyn N. Fajardo as a
representative of the Electoral and Judicial Tribunal, and Amer Hussain S.
Pangcoga and Christmyrian C. Balaba as representatives of the studentry.
RESOLVED FURTHER, that the term of such members of the Commission
shall only be up to the end of March 2017; Provided, that such term may be
extended for a period three days, upon the approval of the Executive Board.

RESOLVED FURTHER, that the Executive Board hereby allots an


appropriation, sourced from the savings of the Organization, for the needed
operations of the Commission in the amount of Two Thousand Pesos (P
2,000.00); Provided, that the Commission, through its Chairman and Treasurer,
shall be required to submit a fiscal report of its expenses incurred during its
operation within fifteen days before the last day of this Semester.

RESOLVED FURTHER, that a certified copy of this Resolution was duly


passed by the Executive Board of the Law Student Government on the xxth day
of March 2017, in accordance with the Constitution and By-Laws governing the
Organization and that the said resolution has been duly recorded in the Minute
Book and is in full force and effect.
