Rail Joint

This document specifies the requirements for rail joints, also known as fish plates, used on UIC54 rail curves with a radius of less than 300m. The fish plates must meet shape and profile standards of UIC864-8 and be made of S45C steel per JIS G 4051 and JIS E 1102. Bolts, nuts, washers and spring washers used with the fish plates must also meet mechanical property standards according to JIS E 1102.

This specification describes the requirement of the rail joint (fish plate) for UIC54 rail which is
applied for the curves less than 300m radius and its bolt, nuts , washers and spring washers.
