Super Centurion 250 Fire Hydrants

Check Valves

Storz Connection
• Allows fire department to connect pumper hose to hydrant quickly–with just
quarter-turn action
• No thread alignment, cross threading or leakage problems associated with
threaded connections
• Our Storz connections are manufactured to our design and specifications, and
are UL listed and FM approved when installed on Mueller® hydrants*
• Hydrants with Storz connection retain their published pressure rating
• Nozzle can be ordered separately to retrofit hydrants already in the field*
• Storz Options: 4" or 5" pumper nozzles on any Centurion 250™ or
Modern Centurion Fire Hydrant
* The UL listing and FM approval of our Storz connection do not carry over when installed
on other brand fire hydrants.

Tapping Materials
Tapping Valves:
• Resilient wedge with all the features of the Mueller®
line of Resilient Wedge Valves shown earlier in
this brochure
• Non-rising stem (NRS)
• Pressure Rating: 4"-12" 200 psig (1379 kPa) standard,
250 psig (1723 kPa) optional; 14" & 16" 250 psig
(1723 kPa) standard, 18"-24" 175 psig (1206 kPa) standard
• UL listed (4"-24"); FM approved (4"-16")
• Size Ranges: 4"-48" with one end flanged with
alignment lip to attach to tapping sleeve; other end
available with a variety of end connections, with
a special flange to permit attachment of drilling
machine and adapter
Stainless Steel Tapping Sleeves*:
• Designs to fit most pipe types, including iron pipe
size PVC, C900 cast iron O.D. PVC, A-C, cast iron
