Expression of Interest

for Iconic Structure in the proposed Bio Diversity Park near Vasna Barrage on
West Bank of River Sabarmati for SRFD Project

Sabarmati Riverfront Development Corporation Ltd (SRFDCL) has developed Sabarmati


Riverfront with the aim to improve city life through creating more public space and
improving existing environmental condition.

As a part of this, the company has developed world class, first of its kind Riverfront
Project on 11.5 Km stretch of the River on both the banks.

As the project is nearing its completion, available/reclaimed land of 204 Ha has been
notified as project area. Nearly 86% of land is reserved for creating public utilities like
garden, walkways, roads and green space. AMC has spent Rs. 1200 Crores i.e. 0.2 billion
USD in the Project so far and created World Class infrastructure on both the banks of
River. Hitherto neglected river has become an attraction for national as well as tourist
from other parts of World.

Gardens, Riverfront Market, State of Art Laundry Campus, Large Event Ground, Flower
Garden are developed along with upper and lower promenades along the river stretch..

This project has thus become a turnaround in terms of creating infrastructure for public
and maintaining environmental balance.

As a part of providing a peaceful zone for busy city life, biodiversity park (Silence /
Spiritual garden) on the bank of river to recreate and reconnect people with the River
with the objectives mentioned below. In this regard, it is planned to develop a bio-
diversity park on the project site admeasuring 10 Ha land located on West bank near
Vasna Barrage which is creating very big water body as shown in the location map
below:

Objectives:

(a) To create a peaceful zone on the River - Bio-diversity park.


(b) To construct iconic structure in the centre of the park (eg: meditation).
(c) To plant 15000 trees of 126 different species among many of locally endangered
species.
(d) To create green shelter and resting place for bird and other organisms.

The idea is to create an environment of increasing intensity of silence with a way


leading towards the Iconic Structure at the centre to create the most silent zone to have
spiritual and meditative concentration. The iconic structure may be in relevance to the
functional requirement of peace, silence for meditation/ spiritual contemplation.
Tentative detail is as shown in the plan below and area for the same may be between
1000 -1500 sqmt.

SRFDCL intends to construct spiritual iconic structure in the centre of the park with an
objective to create an environment of increasing intensity of silence with a way leading
towards the Iconic Structure at the centre to create the most silent zone to have spiritual
and meditative concentration. The iconic structure may be in relevance to the functional
requirement of peace, silence for meditation/ spiritual contemplation. With a view to
share the cultural heritage.

In this regards SRFDCL invites Expression of Interest from the Reputed and Experienced
designers with the following information:

Conceptual design presentation should include the following;

1. Company Profile
2. Experience in similar work

Short listed designers based on above, will be invited for presentation. The presentation should
include;

1. Conceptual Design
2. Scope of services and project deliverables
3. Estimated cost of proposed structure etc.
EoI may be submitted (by Registered AD, Courier AD, Speed Postor Mail:
[email protected]) on or before Dt: 16-2-2015 till 15:00 hrs to General
Manager (A&F) at Sabarmati Riverfront Development Corporation Limited office,
1st Floor, Dr. Ramanbhai Patel Bhavan, Usmanpura Cross Road, Usmanpura, Ahmedabad
-380013. Pre bid meeting will be held at 15.00 P.M. on 28-1-2015 at the above
mentioned address.
