Fire Protection Handbook®

A Review
Sponsored by the Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office

The Fire Protection Handbook® is a comprehensive resource for many topics related to fire prevention.
This course will provide the students with a “hands-on” experience to more effectively and efficiently use
the Fire Protection Handbook® for research purposes. The course will also serve as a means to prepare
for the Certified Fire Protection Specialist® exam offered by NFPA®. Students will take multiple review
exams and be provided with tips for organizing and using the Fire Protection Handbook®. This class is an
intensive 3-day review and testing of the Fire Protection Handbook®. Students must apply for CFPS®
testing and membership on their own. The NFPA® exam fee and application is not included with tuition.

COURSE SPECIFICS WHEN:


 All students will be required to bring their own copy April 25-27, 2017
of the Fire Protection Handbook®. 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
 Students should bring a blue ball point pen, red ball 24 hours of CE
point pen, and two highlighters.
 Students should bring “permanent” non-movable WHERE:
