Fraud:
The vendor empanelment process for cafeterias in Pune ODC was underway and a large number of suppliers
were lining up to pursue the same.

DG was in-charge of the process, who wickedly turned this into an opportunity for himself and began seeking
bribe from vendors with a promise to favor them.

His plan, however, failed miserably, when one of the vendors reached out to the local CPO office to enquire
about the empanelment status, very anxious that DG had not reverted to them after taking the money. The CPO
representative quickly sensed that something was fishy here and reported to Ombuds for further investigations.

Investigation revealed that DG had made frequent contacts with vendors at unusual times. It was also
substantiated that he had accepted hundreds of thousands of Indian Rupees from different vendors paid directly
into his bank account.

When questioned, DG desperately challenged the allegation by saying he got it as a loan from the vendors! In
the face of direct evidences, however, DG soon admitted of taking bribe from vendors. He was separated from
Wipro at once and all involved vendors were promptly blacklisted.
