 WHAT IS CBD?
Hemp is a plant that contains more than 400 natural compounds, including the two main groups of mo-
lecules with active properties: terpenes and cannabinoids. The CBD belongs to the latter compounds.
Cannabinoids are molecules capable of interacting with the functions of our nervous system. The hemp
plant biosynthesizes more than 60 cannabinoids, that differ from one another in the processes inte-
raction with our body and in their specific molecular structure. Among the best known we find THC, CBD
and CBG.
Cannabidiol, or CBD, is one of the most generous cannabinoids in hemp. It was widely demonstrated that
this molecule has different therapeutic properties, including the ability to relax the body. Although it acts
on our body offering important benefits, CBD has no psychoactive properties as its closest relative, the
THC. Therefore, we must not confuse the action of these two cannabinoids.
CBD CAN GET HIGH?
No. After taking CBD you will not notice any psychoactive effects; in other words, it does not affect mood,
conscience or mental faculties.
SIDE EFFECTS
Thanks to the numerous studies conducted on dosage and modality of application of CBD, no side effects
related to its consumption have been detected up to now.

WHAT ARE THE VITAGENES?

HEMP 
Hemp (Cannabis sativa L.) is a millennial plant, widely used in past centuries for the production of ropes,
sails, oils, paper, medicines and food. It can replace most of the products made from oil, wood and cotton,
including paper and plastic; currently it’s used widely in the green building construction field.
It has spread all over the world thanks to its rapid growth, adaptability to grow even in more hostile soils
and the incredible resistance of its fibers. It belongs to the family of the Cannabacee which also includes
Humulus (hops). Normally it differs in male plant and female plant, the first one characterized by the pre-
sence of flowers cluster which will release the pollen carried by the wind that will pollinate the flowers of
the female plant consisting of a cup containing an egg and a pair of pistils. Female plants are those that
produce the resin containing the active ingredients of hemp.
The highest resin concentration is in the calyx of the flowers, where the seed will be formed. The typical
leaves of hemp are opposite, pitted and composed of serrated leaflets, always in odd numbers up to a
maximum of 13 points, depending on the development of the plant. Leaves grow opposite until the
beginning of the bloom after which they can develop alternately. It is an annual plant of equatorial and
South American origin, not very demanding as it requires little water, it is cultivated without the use of
fertilizers and pesticides. It has a long tap root, in some cases as long as the plant itself, which can reach
heights ranging from 1 to 5 meters. During its life cycle (very short as it is annual plant) absorbs a lot of
CO2, about 4 times more than trees.
In the future of our planet, more and more polluted and exploited, there is therefore space for a plant
that can bring wealth to humanity and the environment, reduction of pollution and energy saving: HEMP.
