Strait
A strait is a natural, narrow
waterway with land on both sides.
If it has shallower water on both
sides, instead of land, it is called
a Channel e.g., English Channel.
If it is man-made, it would be
called a canal, not a strait.
There are hundreds of straits in
the world. A few important ones
are shown here.
