Directions: Fill in each part of the App Lesson with your own original ideas. Please look at the
sample provided on the class website. Provide 3 to 4 apps/steps for students to complete along
with a creative title, helpful description, and relevant SC teaching standards.
Relevant SC Standards:
Description: This app lesson will develop 1st grade math students’ with a lesson in
geometry about two and three dimensional objects.
Instructional Objective:
Students will be able to draw all different kinds of two dimensional and three
dimensional shapes.
Students will be able to combine two and three dimensional shapes to form
composite shapes.
Step 1 Content-Based or Skill-Based App: Students will use the Geometry Calculator to
get a visual representation of what the two dimensional and three dimensional shapes
that we are learning about look like.

Step 3 Content-Based or Skill-Based App: Students will use this geoboard app to draw
out different shapes on the screen. I can call out a shape and have my students create it
on the geoboard which will help me to see who is remembering the shapes and who is
not. They can also shade in shapes which will help them see that two dimensional
shapes can be broken down into other shapes.

Step 3 Skill-Based App: Students will wait for the teacher to draw on the board
different shapes that they will have to combine to form composite shapes. They will
then go on the Geometry pad app and combine each of the shapes in a drawling and
label them. Once completed they will screenshot their work and email it to the teacher
to be graded.
