VISIT TO MISSION OF ASHARA
INTRODUCTION:
We students of M.Sc nursing final year visited the valuable place of the community
i.e. Mission of Ashara on 25/04/2019. There mentally ill are imparted with education and skills
to join the main core body of the society and to enable a normal social life.
OBJECTIVES OF VISIT:
INTRODUCTION OF VISIT
We reached there along with msc nursing II year student of SUM nursing college department of
C.H.N. on 25 april at 10 am. Firstly, we gathered in the office room where the centre incharge
Ms. Tanaya mishra gave introduction about the organization and facilities rendered by them.
Later on, she gave us the orientation of Ashra and introduced us to their faculties and peoples
where we interacted with the woman’s and all the staffs. It was a pleasure witnessing of such
wonderful work i.e. unconditional services.
OUR MISSION:
mental illness among woman is an emerging issue in the world and the preparedness to tackle
the problems is very merge both from the government and society. Realizing the gravity of the
issue peoples forum stated a holistic programme ‘’ Mission of Ashra’’ for rehabilitating the
mentally ill and destitute woman in july 2003.
ORGANISATIONAL STRUCTURE
Ms tanaya mishra is centre incharge of the institute and there are 57 trained staffs includes
ANMs and GNM staff nurses for providing care to them, one psychologist, doctors , office
staffs , 1 computer teacher, 1 vocational trainer for skills of art an handcrafts etc. and also the
driver, food maker .
ACTIVITIES:
The mentally ill are also being able to learn in following areas according to their interest and
ability:
Making envelops, greeting cards.
Tailoring
Craft and painting
Sports
Dance and other cultural Programmes
1. Various Therapies:
According to the need and capability of each persons the institute is providing the various types
of therapies to the woman’s. The most common is n cognitive therapy , recreational therapy, in
which mentally ill woman’s is taught to facilitate their life’s and gained some skills.
2. Recreational Facilities:
There is also provision of recreational activities to the woman’s like annual function at
the beginning of year i.e. in January and picnic trips at the end of year December.
3. paying Facilities
The woman’s are provided money facility as a regard of their work.
4. Vocational Training Centre:
Depending on the interest, and learning capabilities of the mentally ill, training in the following
vocations are imparted to help them to earn their living-
Making envelops, greeting cards and diyas
Tailoring
Craft and painting
Sports
Art , yoga
Counselling and medication.
FUTURE PLANS;
Focus on education , nursing and allied subjects to create more barefoot technicians and
apt professionals for rendering services.
Conduct research and training g programme in the area of community mental health
care..
CONCLUSION:
It was a pleasure and enjoyable moment for us to spent time with special population. We
appreciate the dedication and compassion of the all staffs of the school for such unconditional
services. We are now acknowledged with such children and their problems faced by them in the
society. At last, we hope for their better future and the mission of Ashra may get more support
so they can render more and more quality needs care to the woman’s.
