Mode Selector SW143 positioned on the front panel
Description of function for manual gear shifting
Mode Selector SW143 set to "MAN"
The gears are selected manually by turning the gear selector to the desired gear position.
Changing travelling direction
After changing travelling direction the machine moves off in the previously selected gear.
NOTE!
As a safety function upshift to a higher gear takes place if certain critical engine speeds and travelling speeds are exceeded.
For gear shifting down to 1st gear, see "Kick-down function".[Invalid linktarget]
Engine braking / downshifting
Changing direction at lower travelling speed takes place in 2nd gear. If the travelling speed is too high, 3rd gear will be
engaged first and then, when the speed has dropped, 2nd gear will be engaged.
Engine braking / downshifting
2nd gear is the basic gear and the gear in which the machine always moves off in when the gear selector is in either of
positions 3 or 4. For engine braking the accelerator control should be released fully and the engine braking / downshifting
button SW105 should be pressed in. Downshifting will then take place in stages, with one gear each time the switch is
depressed, from 4th to 3rd and at a further pressing of the switch from 3rd to 2nd, if the speed then is below 22 km/h (13.7
mph).
For a further downshifting to 1st gear see "Kick-down function".[Invalid linktarget]
If the engine braking / downshift button, SW105, is kept pressed in while accelerating, upshifting is prevented.
Over-speeding protection
When downshifting is selected, the control programme always checks so that the travelling speed is not too high for the
selected gear. Should this be the case, the current gear will be retained until the speed has dropped to a permissible level.
Kick-down function
Kick-down means shifting down to 1st gear by selecting the kick-down function with SW90 on the selector control, or
SW105 on the control lever carrier. The downshifting point to 1st gear is dependent on the mode selector setting, the
engine speed and the travelling speed.
1st gear will be engaged, if the travelling speed is sufficiently low, or if the travelling speed drops sufficiently within 8
seconds from the moment the kick-down function was activated.
When 1st gear is engaged, this is indicated by a short pip signal from the buzzer.
To shift up again to 2nd gear, the kick-down function must be activated once more.
NOTE!
As a safety function upshifting to a higher gear takes place if certain critical engine speeds and travelling speeds are
exceeded.
WARNING
During all changes of the adjusting screw settings, the engine must be turned off. When the engine is started
afterwards, the starter inhibitor will not be functional.
In case of an open circuit to the neutral and drive position spool S1 or forward and the reverse spool S2, the machine can be
operated temporarily, by screwing in the adjusting screws on the gear selector valve, see Fig. 6, to stop. In order to obtain
forward drive, the D-N screw should be screwed in and in order to obtain reverse drive, both the D-N and the F-R screws
should be screwed in. When the fault has been remedied, the adjusting screws should be screwed out to stop, locked and a
new security seal fitted.
