ACTION RESEARCH
As Technology and Livelihood Education Teacher of Baganga National High School, I

am conducting an action research giving emphasis on the substance of technology in
our daily life. Thus, I am asking permission to conduct a research in titled The
Significance of Tools and Equipment in technology and livelihood education in Grade
7. Findings of this study through its recommendation will be given priority as program
and projects of the school administration.

ACTION RESEARCHON THE SIGNIFICANCE OF TOOLS AND EQUIPMENTS IN TECHNOLOGY

AND LIVELIHOOD EDUCATION IN GRADE XI
I. Problem Identification:
The learners learning opportunity is crucial. We always long to have a graduate that are
globally competitive and that is why we need to grasp all aspects of opportunities.
Technologies are proven to give comfort, lighter works and easy jobs to all who engage
in it. And this is what the school are trying to embrace, trying to cater the needs of the
learners now that we are offering the K to 12 programs. However, the eagerness of
implementing this program marks a big question. We are now on the fifth year of its
implementation but still big gaps, and lack of necessary tools and equipment needed
as instrument of actual learning process. This problem is not only experienced by me as
a teacher, but this is more experienced by the learners, because they are the center
subject for the suppose transfer of learning. This is the reason why some graduates
cannot find a job.
1. What is the significance of tools and equipment in Technology and livelihood
Education?
2. What is the importance of Teachers training and acquisition of national
certificate?
II. Problem Analysis:
The problem observed by me is through to all teachers handling TLE subjects. It was
observed that TLE subjects can open the portal of change and gave the learners the
opportunity to have a source of income for a decent living. Thus, I found out that one
way to motivate and unleash the learner’s interest in enhancing their ability and skills is
to have an actual engagement and manipulation of tools in an actual performances.
Furthermore, continues and constant using of such tools and equipment develop self-
confidence, mastery and expertise in the learners and they will be equipped with
necessary and appropriate knowledge in the operation of tools and equipment using
the modern technology. Thus, this can gave the future graduates an avenue to land a
job for they are fully equipped with necessary knowledge and skills as they engage
themselves in an actual works to support their needs in the future.
III. Formulating hypothesis:
 Learners who engage and undergo proper training in the actual

manipulation of tools find it more interesting and exciting.
 Learners who are aware of the appropriate operation of such tools ensures
self-safety and the safety of others.
 Learners who constantly operate the tools and equipment will gain mastery
and expertise.
 Learners who gained self-confidence in actual operation of tools and
equipment demonstrate fast and easy job performances.
IV. Evaluation:
TLE is indispensable in our daily life. Without TLE, life experience will be very much
annoying. TLE is here and everywhere. Learning the modern technology with the use of
appropriate tools and equipment helps much in making our works comfortable, fast,
easy and safe. This can help us facilitate works easily for our livelihood to sustain our
existence and obtain good health. Finally, TLE prepares our young people to be an
efficient and effective worker not only domestically but globally competitive.
V. Conclusion and recommendation:
As a T.L.E teacher in Grade 7, I have found out that the availability of tools and
equipment as well as materials in the course of training is very much significant in order
to obtain excellent training output. Therefore, it is my strong recommendation that tools
and equipment should be procured so that proper training can be implemented in
accordance with the competencies required.
Furthermore, the school administration should look into the necessity of these tools and
equipment to refresh and enhance teacher’s capability to train well in order to
produce excellent, quality and globally well trained and competitive future graduates.
