    Statement of Purpose

    Mtech : VLSI Design Tools and Technologies


    Rahul Yadav

    I want to pursue Mtech degree in VLSI Design Tools and Technologies as it will help me realize my goal
    of becoming a chip design engineer. My under-graduate program in Electronics & Communication at
    Delhi Technological University covered various core topics namely VLSI, Electronic Devices & Circuits,
    Digital Circuits, Analog Integrated Circuits,Networks etc.
    During my college studies I always had an enthusiasm in observing the practical application of the
    subjects I studied. Studies of Mosfets, Electronic Devices and circuits ,digital circuits ,Analog integrated
    circuit analysis, in my career gave me an ongoing interest in the field of Electronics and communication.

    As part of the college work I have synthesized the 8 bit RISC Processor on Verilog Hardware Description
    Language .The processor which I implemented is a single core , capable of performing Arithmetic and
    Logical Operations with the facility to handle interrupts.

    Imagine my exhilaration when my goals aligned with the reality and I was offered a full-time job position
    at Bharat Electronics Limited ,Ghaziabad as a Deputy Engineer. Here I had a training at BEL Bangalore
    Complex where I got to see the various electronics products made by BEL ,starting from Radars, Antenna
    to Electronic Voting Machine ,Tablet PC, etc. After training I was posted to Ghaziabad unit in the Indian
    Air Force Project. Here I got the chance to work in one of the biggest defence project of India. Currently I
    am a part of Enterprise Management System(EMS) team. Here I am involved in the finalization of the
    System Requirement Specification and High Level Design of EMS. I got the chance to design the Identity
    and Access Management architecture ,and also I learned about Identity and Access Management tools .I
    was also given an opportunity by my seniors to give training to Air Force Official at different locations in
    India about Enterprise Management System. After getting exposed to technologies I understood that in
    order to gain an indepth understanding and further analysis of the underline technologies I need to
    enhance my skill set further for which I need a master degree from a prestigious institute like IIT Delhi .

    With an Mtech program from IIT Delhi, I feel I have the passion for upgrading my skills effectively and
    reaching out to a larger community of enthusiasts and researchers studying together for a common
    goal. The time I will spend on your campus will be an eye-opener for a larger set of problems that the
    world is facing at present. IIT Delhi’s strong traditions coupled with upbeat training have churned many
    professionals. It will be the perfect place for me to nurture and fine-tune a spirit of technological
    breakthroughs. Getting the opportunity to study with the best of intellects across India along with a
    diverse peer group, I will gain an informed yet edgy perspective on Analog, VLSI as a subject. I am highly
    inspired by the amount of research that this university can offer. I would love to involve myself directly
    with erudite professors. Their research has leveraged the worth of on-going research. I would love to
    work with them directly in the future.

    Finally, I take this opportunity to thank you for enabling me to express myself. Your Master’s program in
    VLSI Design Tools and Technologies will allow me to achieve these goals, and I therefore greatly
    appreciate your consideration of my application.
