REMINGTON RAND ~ 1911A1 U.S. ARMY WW2 .45 AUTO

COMPLETELY ORIGINAL & EXCELLENT SHAPE...MFD 1945
NO RESERVE!! Here's a very nice WWII M1911A1 U.S. Army .45 automatic pistol!
Manufactured by Remington Rand in mid-1945, not far from the end of 1911A1
production. This pistol is completely original as shipped during World War II. All of the
component parts are correct for the period of manufacture. The slide lock and 8-rib
mainspring housing are of the later war serrated design. The barrel is correctly marked
HS (High Standard subcontract) and is dulite blue finished. The ordnance crossed
cannons final acceptance, FJA inspection stamp, P proofs, and serial number are all
stamped through the finish, showing some burnishing, indicative of an original finish
pistol. Likewise, the feed ramp is milled in the white. Furthermore, the internal wear
patterns show that the slide, barrel and frame are original to one another. The original
parkerized finish rates about 96-97% overall with only minimal finish loss from actual
use. The pistol does show show slight sharp edge wear and some various handling marks
including a few fine scratches on the right side of the slide below the ejection port. There
is no rust or any pitting on the gun. The Keyes Fibre grips are correct and in excellent
condition also, showing very little wear. The mechanics are in perfect working order and
the bore is excellent with bright, sharp rifling. The original finish/excellent condition "G"
marked General Shaver WWII contract magazine is correct as well. Remington Rand was
a very innovative company, always seeking to improve manufacturing techniques. The
company contributed greatly to the war effort and by war's end arguably made the
highest quality 1911A1 pistol of any manufacturer. This is a clean, completely original
example and probably the best personal sidearm available during WWII. A great addition
to any military collection!

Buyer pays $39.00 shipping.
