Skimming is reading rapidly in order to get a general
overview of the material.

Scanning is fast reading rapidly in order to find specific


facts.
4.5 Application (5 min.) Read “The Origin of the World (Maranaw)”
Learner’s Material page 47-48,
Answer the given questions.

1. What is the selection all about?


2. Who created the world according to Maranaw folklore?
3. How many layers comprised the world he created?
4. Where was heaven found in the world of the early
Maranaws? Who were the inhabitants?
