correctly, go back to the Lesson Information. This will ensure
your mastery of basic information.
2
EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES
At the end of the module, you should be able to:
PREASSESSMENT
Let us determine how much you already know about installing
mechatronic devices. Read and analyze each statement carefully.
Choose the best answer and write only the letter of your answer on
your answer sheet.

Key Elements of a Mechatronic System )- Subhead 1
The key elements of mechatronics are electronics, digital control,
sensors and actuators, and information technology. All are integrated
in such a way to produce a real product that is of practical use to
people.

The Pneumatic System )- Subhead 1
Air is drawn from the atmosphere through an air filter and raised to
required pressure by an air compressor. External power supply motor
is used to drive the air compressor. The air compressor is used to
compress the fresh air drawn from the atmosphere. As the pressure
rises, the temperature also rises, air cooler is provided to cool the air
with some preliminary treatment to remove the moisture.
Then the treatment pressurized air needs to get stored to maintain the
pressure. The receiver or storage reservoir is used to store a given
volume of compressed air. In the receiver or reservoir, a pressure
switch is fitted to start and stop the electric motor when pressure falls
and reached the required level, respectively.
