About Institute
National Power Training Institute, an ISO 9001 : 2000 and 14001 organisation, has been set up by MINISTRY OF
POWER (GOVT. OF INDIA0 to function as national apex body for the Human Resource Development for Indian
Power Sector. It has corporate office located at Faridabad (Hariyana) and operates on all India basis.
NPTI, Nagpur established int he year 1975, is fully equipped with the latest state-of-the art infrastructure and expert
faculties having field, professional and teaching experience. NPTI Nagpur has been maintaining number one position
for the last 4 years among its Regional Institutes.
Facilities at NPTI Nagpur, *210 MW SIMULATOR

NPTI Nagpur has well tuned, full-scope, hi-tech real time 210 MW fossil fuel fired simulator, a replica of 210 MW Unit-
1 of Khaperkheda, Thermal Power Station (MSEB). The process model of the simulator is based on BHEL- CE
Tangentially corner fired boiler design and KWU turbine system. It facilitates training both in the conventional mode of
control room operation and also on CRT key board based unit operation.

The Indian Power Sector is growing very fast. The amendment in the Indian Electricity Act, have opened private
sector participation in the Transmission & Distribution of Power. It has further created a large demand for the trained

available for recruitment to the power companies in the area of Transmission & Distribution of Electrical Power and
allied industries.
On successful completion of this course, the Graduate Engineers shall be having good job opportunities and
preference in employment with various power companies.
Eligibility:
Bachelor of Engineering (B.E./B.Tech.) or equivalent in “Electrical” or “Power" Engineering or “Electrical & Electronics”
or “Electronics & Power(E&P) “& its equivalent branches.
Age limit : No age limit.

However admissions will be subjected to passing the eligible qualification & submission of documents at the time of
admission.
Selection criteria for admission:

Percentage of marks obtained in the B.E. or equivalent examination as per University norms.
In case of universities awarding Grade Points (CGPA or equivalent), the same should be converted into
percentage and the conversion formula obtained from University/College should be attached.
No. Of seats : 60 (Sixty only). Out of the above 25% is reserved for sponsored category. Reservation for SC, ST,
OBC & PH will be as per Govt. norms in the non-sponsored category.

Boarding & lodging charges

1. The total lodging charges is Rs. 17,700/- (15,000/- + 18% GST) for six months.
2. The Boarding/Food charge is approximately Rs.5448/-for two months, [Rs.2594/- per Month + 5%GST (129.7)
= 2724/-] which is to be paid in to the NPTI, Canteen Contractor.
General
1. Transportation charges Rs. 1416/- (1200/- + 18%) GST is to be deposited by the student at the time of joining.
2. Caution Money: An amount of Rs. 3,000/- as Caution Money (Refundable) against use of library, Hostel,
Stores, etc. is to be deposited by the student at the time of joining the Institute.
Refund policy:
A) Refund on Discontinuation of the course: In case a selected candidate discontinues from the program for any
reason, no part of course fees and lodging charges will be refunded.
The boarding charges excluding taxes and the security deposit become refundable at the time of discontinuation after
the dues.
B) Refund on Completion of Course: Only the Security Deposit will be refunded after deduction of dues, if any.

GENERAL
1. Security Deposit:- An amount of Rs.3000/- as Caution Money (Refundable) against use of Library,
Hostel, Stores, etc. is to be deposited by the student at the time of joining the Institute.
2. Hostel:- No outsiders - known or relatives - shall be permitted to use hostel facilities for whole or
part of the day without permission.
3. Attendance:- More than 75% attendance in Theory & Practical/Visit & Exam sessions is must. Candidates found
irregular in attending training or uninterested shall not be considered for placement and/or their course
completion certification will be reviewed.
4. Refund Policy :
A. Refund on Discontinuation of the course: In case a selected candidate discontinues from the
program for any reason, no part of course fees and lodging charges will be refunded.The boarding charges
excluding taxes and the security deposit will be refunded only.
